Barley a whisper passed between y/n and her acquaintance and they swiftly made their way through the forest.
All the direction she could follow was the occasional turn of a hooded head and a crimson cloak that billowed slightly as they shifted direction. Y/n was weary of this person, however not afraid as she had been moments prior. The hooded figure's countenance was quiet and unknown - not comforting, that was for sure - but nonthreatening all the same.
Shoes on crunchy undergrowth was the only sound they made for about an hour. However, they came to an abrupt stop at what looked like a road. The dull glow of asphalt gleamed up at y/n's eyes, much brighter than the forest surrounding them.
"Are we crossing?," y/n asked.
The figure didn't answer and instead just shuffled slightly, staying put. The movement answered y/n's question well enough.
This person, I swear.
In the now exposed light of the road, y/n could clearly see the velvet fabric of the cloak her companion was wearing. Bright overcast clouds made the deep, rich tones of the material stand out as it folded and settled around the figures body. Even still in motion, it looked like an ocean of red.
There was a moment where things seemed utterly peaceful. Birds in trees were twittering away with conversations foreign to y/n's ears. A slight breeze rustles the leaves and the sky stayed that sweet color of mist. A few shadows falling on the underbellies of clouds as they passed over head.
The moment of peace was gone as a sports car zoomed around the far corner of the road and came to a sudden stop right in front of the them. Much to y/n's amazement, the next few moments were that of something out of a Marvel movie.
The steaming car was sleek and black as a beetle, thin red lines ran the length of the car in geometric patterns, so subtle, you almost had to squint to see them under the reflection of the sky on the car's skin. Y/n had never seen such a car of this quality this close before. She had seen these types of cars before from afar in downtown Denver and other cities she had visited. However, nothing compared to the look of this car up close. It was mesmerizing.
"This is our ride," came the simple words the the cloaked figure to her right.
Y/n almost choked in surprise as those words were uttered. Deep down she had a feeling that the car would be for them, however she didn't want to say it out loud.
Not until now.
Instead she just nodded with wide eyes and shouldered her backpack with a shaky shoulder. Yeesh, why am I so nervous?
She thought for a moment, then slapped her palm to her sweaty forehead.
Probably because of the feeling like I'm being willfully kidnapped. She thought sarcastically, scolding herself for being so dim-witted.
The driver seat swan door of the vehicle shifted as it opened, a head appearing on the other side. It was blonde and wavy and not hooded by a red cloak. It almost appeared as if the mop top of hair was in a fashionable windstorm just before coming there. The stranger then turned around and faced us, fixing their own heavy red cloak around their shoulders as they begin to meander around the cars back.
