Being a single parent is hard. I got pregnant at 16 and when I told the guy about the baby, he just blacked out on me
I didn't want a child, but I couldn't bare knowing I had the chance to make new life and got rid of it.
I'm 20, Aaliyah is 5. She just turned 5 She's my little girl. I raised her all by myself. She doesn't know who the dad is. I do. I miss him a lot, but it was his choice to walk out
It was a nice day outside and I decided to take her to the park. The park is usually busy on days like this but it was kinda boring staying at home.
"Aaliyah, wanna go park" I ask her, tying my shoes.
She was playing on her iPad right now.
"Yeah" her face lights up.
I smile and she gets changed into a little cute dress and some pretty shoes. I tie her hair in two pig tails and we start walking to the park.
She puts her hand in my hand "mommy where's daddy?" She asks looking at a family
"Daddy... daddy is an idiot, he's out there but you're not allowed to see him until you're older baby" I rub my thumb along her fingers
She smiles and starts skipping. I skip with her and we reach the park.
"Mommy, push me on the swings" she runs over there
I run after her and lift her up in the swing.
She holds on and I go behind her and start pushing her "you okay baby" I push her
"Yeah, higher!" She laughs
I smile "move your legs, swing them in and out" I step back.
She swings her legs and realises she's on it by herself.
I smile and the swing slows down.
"Slide" she jumps of, leaving her bag.
I grab her bag and she was around the slide already.
I go after her and my phone starts ringing, it was my mom.
"Aaliyah, stay there, I just need to take this call" I hold onto her bag but then around and walk beside a tree to answer
"Hey mom"
"Y/n, hows Aaliyah?" She says proudly
Mom helped me with Aaliyah, dad didn't, dad said if he could he would disown me.
"She's on the slide, we're at the park, why?" I look over to the slide, she was sliding down the slide laughing
"Could you get a baby sitter for her in two days?" She asks
"I could try Yeah, why?"
"It's a family dinner, your brothers coming but you can't bring Aaliyah. Dads coming" I imaging her rolling her eyes
"Yeah that's grand... I'll call you later on, love you mom"
"Love you too" She hangs up
I put my phone back in my pocket and look over at the slide, she wasn't there.
"Aaliyah" I shout and start running to the slide.
I seen her with a guy and her knee was cut
"Liyah, what happened" I sit down on the floor beside her and hug her
"She fell off the slide, I have a band aid in my pocket" the guy says
He wasn't very old, maybe around my age. Really pretty eyes
