I was walking home from my night shift, Closing up. It's always the worst job to do. I hate walking alone at night.
I turn round the corner and see a group of guys, I see things like this on social media and news platforms. I wasn't in the mood t get 'catcalled' as such. I just wanted to get home quickly.
Unfortunately, My house was past where the group of 15-20 boys were walking, Only walking towards the direction i was supposed to be walking.
I decided on cutting through an alley way, Which is faster because i can enter my home through my backyard, But also helpful because i'll be avoiding the large group of males.
I make my eyes towards the dark, narrow alley way. I was hesitant for a second but no one ever comes down here.
I make my way through the alley way, Not realizing how far i was from my house, Maybe i should just turn and walk back, It sounds to me as the boys are getting further and further away.
I couldn't see down the alley way, It looked like an entry to oblivion. I reach my hand into my bag and grab my phone, I swipe up and turn my flashlight on and it helped the situation, barely.
I carry on making my way through the alley way, It smelt like old food and wet dog. It wasn't a very pleasant sound.
Then suddenly, I see an exit. I speed up my walking and turn the corner to get to the exit. I just peered my head around the wall, Both directions and I was no slightly ahead of the group.
I could either exit the alley way here now and make my way to my home, but the possibility of one of the males seeing me and running up to me, would be very high. And that is definitely the last thing i want
Or, I could continue making my way down the alley way until i get through the other exit and then jog to my house, Or i could enter through my backyard.
I decided to go for option two and carry on walking. This was a long street and it was extremely annoying that i lived right at the bottom of it.
My mind starts panicking when i was pushed up against an alley way wall. A man in a balaclava.
"Help" I shout out, Kicking my legs and throwing my arms over the place.
"Give me your bag" He tried to rip it from my arms. That bag has everything in. My house keys, My work keys, My ID. My purse.
He manages to rip the bag from my arms and puts his hand around my throat "The necklace and ring" He pushes tighter.
I couldn't say anything. I was getting choked here. I was coughing loudly and i was still trying to kick him away.
I couldn't see anything, It was so dark.
Then out of nowhere the man is pushed onto the floor, The flashlight to my phone shone up and i could see the slight figure of another male.
He kicks the guy in the stomach, I was coughing from nearly being choked, I need to run. This man can easily be in on it too.
"Give the woman back her jewelry, Now" The other male says.
The man in the balaclava stands up, He has green eyes, From the flashlight that's all i could tell.
He throws my jewelry onto the floor, My bag was emptied on the floor and then runs off.
The man holds his hand out, I grab his hand and stand up. "Thanks" I clear my throat and rush to get all my things packed together.
I pick my flashlight up. My ring was gone. My ring can't be gone. My mother got me that before she died.
"Here" He puts his hand on my shoulder, Just my reflexes. I turn and slap his hand away. "I...I'm sorry" I stand up, quickly turning to face the guy.
"Here" He hands me the ring.
I snatch it off him quickly and start making my way to the exit. "Wait" I could hear his footsteps jogging after me.
"I'll walk you" He stands beside me.
"I'm okay, Thanks" I walk faster than before. He was still following me. I could feel him close and hear his steps.
I turn the corner and look at him. Okay wow. He's really cute.
"I insist. The guys out there won't leave a pretty girl away" He smirks, chin down with his lips parted and eyes up.
"How do I know you're not gonna do the same thing" I take a step back when he takes a step closer.
"Because i respect women, I'm Zach" he holds his hand out. I felt like i could trust him, even though i just met him.
"Olivia" I reply, Shaking his hand. "Pretty name for a pretty girl" He flirts, My cheeks burn up a little and i look down "I'm not too far from here"
"Let's head out then" He starts walking. I was hesitant but follow after him, He slows down until we're walking side by side.
"What are you doing in an alley way, At 11pm, alone. It's dangerous" He speaks up. Looking at me.
"Closing up at work" I reply "What about you" I felt the urge to get to know this boy.
"I was with my mates and heard a girl screaming, Couldn't block it out. You should really get someone to walk you home. You don't know what's out here, especially not at night" He's wise. I know that i'm just not in a good mood.
"Are those all your friends" I point to the boys in front of us. "Yeah" He sighs
"They wouldn't touch you, Only harass you, Ask them to leave you alone and they would. All respectful like that. Obnoxious when it comes to a pretty girl. Especially one alone, They'll try get your number and everything" He laughs, "Sometimes they don't get the message"
"Was that guy your friend?" I look at him. He had the prettiest eyes ever. "The one back in the alley way"
"Definitely not, We're just out to have a good time. Shit like that is something we've never did" He runs his fingers through his hair "Where'd you live, Olivia"
"Just the end house" I point.
"I come down here every night and have never seen you" He chuckles a little. "I usually do opening shifts and finish at 5" I smile.
"How old are you" He asks "17" i reply "and you?"
"18" He smiles looking down. Laughing a bit.
"This is gonna sound so weird, but would you like to have lunch with me at the weekend" He asks. That bought a smile to my face.
"You practically saved my life, I owe you one" I was smiling like an idiot and this hasn't even said anything special. We reach my home.
"I'll pick you up, Saturday at 7, Wear something casual" The porch light turns on. "Cool, It's a date" I smile
"It's a date" He looks into my eyes. "Have a good night Olivia" He goes in for a hug. I hug him back and he turns on his heels.
"Wait Zach" I stop him "Yeah" He turns around "Out your number in my phone" I hand him my phone.
He looks at my phone for a second and then starts typing. He hands it back "Good night" I smile and walk into my home.
That took a turn of events
