Finding Neverland (Newt x OC x Minho)

Welcome To The Safe Haven

Thomas' POV

I woke up in a hut, similar to the med hut we have back in the maze. there were some medicine around me and a humidifier. I felt the pain stinging on my stomach as I got up of the bed. they took out the bullet from Jansen's gun off of me. they kept me alive. I remembered how everyone cried when I passed out. I could still hear my sister crying over me and Newt as she thought I was dead. Teresa, after that kiss, she saved my life but not hers we couldn't get her to the safe haven. I walked out of the hut and found a blue sea in front of my eyes. Mia might have liked it.

I heard voices from the other side and found out a field where they plant food just like what we have in the glade before, Vince was harvesting corns back at the field. Everyone was here, Harriet, Aris, Lizzy, everyone. I'm glad they were happy and save. Minho was there too, he was with my sister, Brenda and Jorge, they were talking about some device Jorge might have developed. Minho came and hugged me. I cried in his brotherly hug. Mia saw me, she ran towards me and dove onto my chest. she cried. she thought I couldn't make it. I made it.

Then Mia came to Minho and smiled. she hugged his waist lovingly just like how she did with Newt. She only have Minho now. Brenda slowly came to me and gave me a warm hug. she tiptoed and kissed my lips. "Thanks for being alive. I only have you. I don't want you to leave me like George did," She said and kissed me again. I kissed her back. I guess I can learn to love her like how I've been with Teresa.

[Night at the safe haven. the first bonfire ever after everything]

The bonfire was lit. The keepers from Group A, the representatives of Group B, Vince, Brenda and Jorge lit up the bonfire with their torch. Mia stood there beside Minho, leaning her head on his shoulder with Minho's arm protectively flung around her shoulder. Vince stood up to the front to make the first speech as everyone sat down on the logs.

"We have come a long way together. So many have sacrificed so much to make this place possible. Your friends and your family. So here's to the ones who couldn't be here. Here's to the friends we lost. This place is for you. It's for all of us. But this, this is for them. So, in your own time, in your own way, come make your peace. And welcome to the Safe Haven." Vince started his speech.

"Yeah!" I chanted.

"Yeah!" Everyone followed behind. I could see Harriet and Lizzy cried as they remembered all her friends who had been killed by WCKD.

"You all want some food? This is gonna be a good home for us." Minho told me as he pats my shoulder and gave my sister Fry's stew.

"Yeah." I nodded and he came back with another bowl of Frypan's Stew.

I walked out of the crowd and sat on the upside down boat, thinking about everyone who had left us. Then Minho and Mia came and sat beside me. Minho handed something to me.

"You had this on you while you were passed out. Figured I'd keep it safe for ya." He said.

"Thanks, Minho." I said and took the necklace from him.

"Hey, Tommy. We'll wait for you down by the bonfire," My sister said as she pulled Minho to leave me on the seat. giving me private time to take a look at the necklace.

"See you out there." he said, running to catch up with Mia. Seeing Mia trying so hard to let Newt go, seeing how Minho is trying to make her happy in her sorrow, I just see why Newt trusted his love of the life to Minho. They only had each other. Minho could be the air she's lost after Newt died.

"See ya." I smiled.

I then looked at the necklace and opened the locket to find papers, no. letter scrolled inside the small tube. it was a letter. Newt's last letter for me. I didn't know he wrote this life long letter for me before. I mustered up my courage to read the letter, the last hand written letter. Tears welled inside my eyes even before I began reading the letter.
