Minho's POV

I was in the council hall, together with the Keepers, Thomas and Mia. We were trying to convince Newt and Gally about this clue, the first clue we've ever found all these years. Well, Newt might be on our side, but not Gally. He had been convincing everyone to get Thomas to punishment or banishment. I don't know why Gally hated Thomas so much.

"We found this. It was inside a Griever." Thomas handed the 'key' to Newt. "These are the same letters we get in our supplies." He added.

"Yeah." Newt nodded and examined the key.

"Whoever put us here obviously made the Grievers." I said confidently.

"This is the first real clue, the first anything, you've found in over 3 years. Right, Minho?" Thomas looked at me.

"Right." I nodded firmly, I knew where it was heading by now.

"Newt, we gotta go back out there. Who knows where this might lead us." Thomas reasoned. This time I agreed with him and so did everyone else but Gally. Newt was still weighing over the opinions around us.

"You see what he's trying to do, right? First he breaks our rules... and then he tries to convince us to abandon them totally. The rules are the only thing that have ever held us together. Why now are we questioning that? If Alby was here, you know he'd agree with me. This shank needs to be punished." Gally said. He really wanted to get rid of Thomas.

"You're right. Thomas broke the rules. One night in the pit, and no food." Newt said. He made the call. I guess that was just to satisfy Gally.

"Come on, Newt! One night in the pit? Do you think that's gonna stop him from going into the maze?" Gally argued. From the look of his facial expression, I knew he wanted the punishment to be heavier than this.

"No. And we can't just have non-runners running into the maze whenever they feel like it." Newt paused and looked at Thomas. "So let's just make this official. Starting from tomorrow, you're a runner." He said to Thomas.

"Wow." Gally stormed out of the hut. Angry. Pissed.

"Gally..." Fry tried to hold him off.

"No, Fry." He pushed Fry away.

"I'll go talk to him. You guys continue," Mia said as she ran, following Gally.

"Thanks, Newt." Thomas said.

I was about to take Thomas into the mapping hut, I heard a banter outside the hut. It was Mia and Gally.

'Gally for fuck's sake, can you just stop being an ass hat?'

I don't know she could be this fierce when she's upset. I mean I know that she was an Introvert. but i didn't know Gally could push that wrong button and make the time bomb explode.

'what's your problem, Mia?'

'My problem is that you think you're right, you never want to see anything from the other perspectives'

'why would you follow me?'

'Because I was hurt. I thought I could be friends with you. I thought I could see you as a big brother like how I see Alby. But you're just way more childish than Tommy. You just wanted him to be banished,'

'you don't know anything, little miss sunshine!'

'You're such a shuck face, Gally. I am not on anybody's side. But Thomas and Minho found something that could lead us out of here. They risked their lives to go back to take whatever it is to take us out of here,'

'how do you know?'

'I knew Minho more than you knew him,'

'no you didn't'

'Yes I did. I've been the longest with him, I knew whether he lied or not. I knew how he learned to trust my brother like what he used to be before the maze. I'm disappointed on you, Gally,'

She cried. Gally made her cry. If Newt saw that, he'd be furious. I knew it for sure. I mean who wouldn't be angry if somebody made Mia cry. I balled my fist as I walk with Thomas to the Map Hut.

-----

Before sundown, I got to show Thomas the map room. He has to be familiar with the maze if he wanted to run in the maze. I wanted to show him what I've mapped all these years I had been here. At least so that he got the big picture about what I and all the runners had done all this time running in and out of the maze.

"Hey, where are we going?" Thomas said as he walked through the woods. I was in front of him, heading to the mapping hut.

"You'll see." I said as I kept walking ahead of him. As soon as we arrived at the hut, I opened the cover of the mapping table.

"It's the maze. All Of it." I told him. Leaving his expression puzzled.

"What do you mean "all of it"? I thought you were still mapping it." He frowned.

"There's nothing left to map. I've run every inch of it myself. Every cycle. Every pattern. If there was a way out, we would have found it by now." I said. Almost desperate.

"Why haven't you told anyone this?" he asked. As usual, curious Thomas.

"It was Alby's call. People needed to believe we had a chance of getting out. But maybe now... we have a real chance." I looked straight at him, reassuring that he brought the hope for us to get out. Encouraging him. "Take a look at this." I showed him the section numbers. "About a year ago, we started exploring these outer sections. We found these numbers printed on the walls. Sections 1 through 8." I paused a little to get some air. "See, the way it works, is every night, when the maze changes...it opens up a new section. So today, Section 6 was open. Tomorrow, it will be 4, then 8, then 3. The pattern always stays the same."

"What's so special about 7?" he asked again. I was about to get used to his questions.

"I don't know." I shrugged. "But last night, when you killed that Griever...Section 7 was open." I said. "I think it must be where it comes from."

"Tomorrow, you and I are gonna take a closer look." I said. As soon as we wrapped up our conversation. As soon as we thought we're done, Jeff and Clint barged through our door.

"Hey! What are you guys doing? You're not allowed in here." I asked.

"Sorry, it's just the,uhH." Jeff stuttered.

"It's the girl." Clint added.

The girl? What did she do? Is she awake? Why was she sent here?
