You were enjoying the silence, sitting upon the shoreline of the sea, within inches of the salty water that recede every few seconds then came back like a boomerang. Your feet were buried within the damp sand; once in a short while the water would nip at your toes, leaving you with the horrible feeling of drainage. Your legs were tucked into your chest as your arms kept them folded. You were thinking all so deeply all the while gazing out upon the crashing waves of the cerulean sea as the moon began to sit in. You welcomed the sounds of passing by seagulls that mocked each other to drown out any barbaric thoughts to cross your mind.

Shanks on the other hand was happily drinking away at a bronze bottle of sake, his third bottle to be exact. After a large chug of sake, he took the bottle from his lips. The misty liquid dribbled down his chin, rubbing the side of his face off upon his clothed shoulder. He sat the bottle aside to the flattest section of the boulder he sat upon. A sudden thought had crossed his mind as he resumed to be watching you contemplate from afar. It's been days, and all that Shanks had done was sit around and watch you do as you do. You've been like this ever since the assassin incident...

Your dagger-like teeth of a canine sunk into the man's throat without a shred of mercy. Despite the fact the man was going to let you run free, you still killed him. Did you do it out of self defense, pleasure, or were you just sick of being treated like an object to be won or bought? Only you knew the answer, yet you didn't even know, or at least the answer wasn't very clear.

Mentally scarred by your own actions, you begun to drift away from the entire crew in order to think everything out.

The time of intervention had came sooner than of Shanks' liking once Ben had lost his patience. Watching one after another, he stomped out of the ship you called home. He stepped up before Shanks' rock, holding out his hand with a grabbing motion. "Three days. Go talk to her," Ben, the mother figure he had been made out to be since first day of when he joined the Red Hair Pirates, he cut Shanks off. Stealing his bottle of sake right out from his hand once he tried to take another sip.

"I planned to," Shanks smiled lightly, not once did his eyes leave you. "But if you were tired of waiting for me, why didn't you go and talk to her yourself?" Shanks smirked as he awaited an answer from his first mate who groaned, thinking about his answer more carefully.

"I know you're not as dense as you come off to be," Ben dodged the question by throwing the same question right back onto his captain.

"I know I'm not," Shanks smirks even more. "But I want to hear it come out of your mouth Mr. Grumpy Pants."

Ben shot daggers at Shanks. "Ever since day one, you've been the closest to (Y/n). Most of the crew think you both are an item. She'll listen to you above us all."

"Was that so hard to say?" Shanks teased with a shy snicker.

"Don't push it," and Ben began his long walk off back towards the docked ship. Shanks wasn't the happiest once he realized that Ben walked off with his drink, but he sucked it up like most would figuring he could just get another bottle later. Shanks shuffled on the rock making more room, resting back on one hand once he felt ready.

"Hey (Y/n)!" Your Captain called out to you with a large smile. You heard the call. shifting your gaze from their previous place of the sea to the red head with glossy eyes. "Come up here with me!" Shanks pats the open space before him on the boulder. As much as you wanted to, you also fought the want to join your Captain. Shaking your head to decline.

"Awe, are you too shy? Come on over, I won't bite," Shanks motioned his hand in his direction. He managed to make you laugh and he didn't even intend to make that happen. You figured 'why not?' Getting up from your place in the sand, dusting off your bottom before standing in front of Shanks. He pats the open place before him on the boulder again. "Just sit," Shanks huffed. "I told you I won't bite."
