Dragon's claw (Shanks X Reader)

I don't really know if this will turn out the way I want but I'm gonna try, I have a plan that goes along with the original plan. I just don't know how it's gonna turn out, when I actually do it... 😶

The Celestial Dragons kept sending more and more people to come get you and take you away from the pirate crew. You didn't want to go back to your old life. Not at all but, you feared that the burden of all the bounty hunters seeking you out and targeting the crew, would not end well for you or the crew.

The crew was in their usual giddy state, it wasn't even half past noon and most of them had already had too much to drink already. You could hear minor conversations, but mostly just pointless rambling, it was almost the same as it always was... The only thing different, Shanks was nowhere to be found, which is quite peculiar on its own but, you haven't seen Benn nor Lucky Roo ether. Yassop was sitting on the railing of the ship drinking another bottle of sakè, 'at least that's normal.' you thought approaching him.

"Yassop!" you called walking over to him, he looked past his bottle as his eyes squared in on you. "Yeah?" he asked wiping some sakè from his mouth and throwing his bottle down with a couple more already on the floor. "Have you seen Shanks?" he smirked at your question, "maybe. Why? you worried?" his smirk widened as you blushed a bit, "Well... I haven't seen him, Benn or Roo." you said looking away. "So~ you were worried?" he said, laughing a bit, at the end. "I wondered where they were because I couldn't find them." you snapped.

He got a defensive look and held up his hands, "okay. Geez,  calm down. have a drink or something. Their fine." he teased. You looked as he reached down to grab his last bottle, "yeah. I think I will." you said calmly as you snatched the bottle away from him. "H-Hey!" he yelled as you walked off, you took a sip looking around. You saw Benn and Roo walk out of a room discussing something amongst themselves.

"Benn! Roo!" you called running up to them, "where were you two?" you asked.  They laughed, "just talking to Shanks. Nothing major, why?" Benn answered, "well, I hadn't seen the three of you and Yassop wouldn't give me a straight answer." you said and took another sip of sake. "Yeah. Oh, captain actually wants to talk to you also." Benn patted you on the back as the two walked away.

Confused and kinda worried about what he wanted you knocked on the door, it was Shanks barrack. "Shanks?" you asked, the door opened revealing Shanks who had an unusual stoic expression. Even more confused and worried at this you entered the room, "you okay?" he looked up at you and gave you a small smile, "Yeah." for a moment there was nothing but awkward silence in the room.

"Benn and Roo said, you wanted to talk to me." you said trying to break the ice. "yeah. A lot of bounty hunters have been coming after you and-". "I'm sorry." he looked at you with a confused look, "No. No, I just don't think it's safe, (y/n). It's what me, Roo and Benn were talking about, we don't think it's safe and your dads the only one you've mentioned." you looked up.

You were happy he said you were wrong, that he didn't think of you as a burden due to all the bounty hunters. "Shanks I'm sure it'll be fine. I feel safe here, I have you and the crew to thank for that and I love it here... I love being a pirate with all of you." you gave him a big smile, "well, alrighty then." he laughed.

A little while past, the ship was docked at an island, you, Benn and Shanks were on the island. Most of the others were past out drunk or still drinking, the three of you walked back to the ship. Shanks' speed increased and a worried look found its way onto his face, you looked at the ship, a few of your crew mates were on the dock and some were injured. Yassop squared his eyes on the three of you, "Oi!" he called, "What happened?" Shanks asked his pace quickening more as Benn pulled you along. You all got on the boat Shanks and Benn help Yassop load the injured men back onto the boat off the dock.

"More bounty hunters?" shanks asked, Yassop nodded the men looked at you, "they were tough. Not like the last few." he scoffed. "Glad you three weren't here, something tells me it's not just about (y/n), I think they've got a bone to pick with you, shanks." he said worriedly. "Well, then. If they've got a bone to pick they can leave my crew out of it and their not getting (y/n). I'll make sure of that." his aura turned dark. "I wouldn't be so sure." a gruff voice said as the cold feeling of metal clasped around your neck.

Within seconds you felt weak, 'sea prism stone' it had to be it's the only reason you would feel weakened. You struggled, the aura of the entire room grew dark. You looked up to see the three men, all had looks in which would scare anyone half to death. "Relax, your haki won't work on me." he smirked, 'he sure is one cocky son of a bitch.' he looked down at you, "then I guess we'll have to settle this like real men." Shanks unsheathed his sword.

The man backed up, holding on tightly to the chain, which connected to the cuff around your neck. "sorry, but I'm not stupid. I'm not about to fight an emperor." he said, "If your dumb enough to piss one off, you should be dumb enough to take the beating for it." shanks said approaching him. You stared at shanks with a scared look, until you were yanked backwards and drug across the ground. You tried to get to your feet but the man was running to fast for you to keep up.

He stopped, you caught your breath but coughed and wheezed as it came back, not only was the force of the metal choking you, you were getting weaker by the minute due to the sea prism stone. "Now, once I get you to the Celestials I'll be sitting good with all that cash." he laughed to himself, "your not gonna make it if you do." you said sitting on your knees only to be pulled to the ground. "What do you mean by that?" he asked, "Because, not only have you pissed off Shanks but you caught him at a bad time because most of his crew was beat up by some other bounty hunters. So, you've pissed off an already pissed off emperor." you smiled a teasingly innocent closed eye smile.

His cocky expression dropped to a scared one, "...shit." is all he said, "and I doubt the Dragons would protect you. They might have a bone to pick with shanks but their also cowards, notice how they've sent people like you to retrieve me. Why do you think that is?" you smirked as you got up once more. His panicked expression said that you had accomplished your part, although you were quite nervous yourself. He didn't show any sign of wanting to take you back, maybe because he's worried shanks will kill him and he probably would, all hope for that was put the window.

Back on the red haired pirate's ship, your presence was missed and shanks' mood had taken a drastic drop. No one in the crew had seen him so upset, he was serious and really pissed. Most of the crew was still healing from the first group that day, which didn't help shanks' attitude that someone had messed with his crew twice in a day and the sun was still high in the sky.

"This is bad!" Yassop said to Benn, he nodded, "yeah. If something doesn't happen soon, Shanks is gonna end up killing someone." the two were worried, for you as much as they were shanks. "I hope (y/n) will be okay." Yassop breathed, "for the sake of all things good, she better be. I don't even want to imagine what Shanks would do if something bad happened to her." Benn said eyeing his Captain, who looked as if he was ready to brutality murder the next person that speaks to him.

"Yeah. I think your right." to that Benn scoffed.
