Your eyes fluttered open, the darkness of your closed eyes was breached as the sun light that seeped through the small windows in the side of the ship's barrack, in which you slept. You sat up and turned to the unusually quiet door of the room, you stared at it engulfed in your thoughts... The whole quiet crew thing didn't sit well with you. Who could blame you? The red-haired pirates... Being quiet?
Someone must've died.
You stand up and quietly wince as the warmth leaves your feet and the cold of the hard floor overtakes the sensitive skin of your heels. You look down your legs to see dark blue bruises and deep red scratches with dried blood lining them, laid scatter all over your soft, smooth skin.
Your mind struck a blank. Why were you so ruffed up? What had happened?
The blank disappeared as the traumatic memories flooded back, like the water of a busted levee after a hurricane. You hissed as you fell back onto the bed and held your head in your hands, "I-it really happened..." you muttered, but one question laid dormant in your mind, is it over? Along with your dreadful memories of that horrible place and everything that had happened you regathered your composer and decided to leave the room to see what was going on outside, you slowly opened the door, covering your newly awaken eyes to protect them from the sun's harsh light.
As you walk outside to see every one of the crew doing their normal actives just with a 'quieter' volume than usual. Well, almost every one, you walk over to Benn, "Oh, you're awake!" Benn said surprised, "Y-Yeah, Benn... Have you seen Shanks?" you hesitated to ask, you felt shaky again, like you did when you had just met the crew.
Granted the situations were get similar, but you had already gotten to know these people, they were your friends... or more like your family. From a young age a family was something you wanted but never got, after your dad left.
Benn laughed, "Yeah... I figured you'd ask about him." he paused and took a drag of his cigarette, "He and Yassop went to gather supplies. H...He thought it would be best if we stayed here with ya."
you nodded, "yeah, That's understandable." you looked down off the boat at the dock, "What country are we docked at?". Benn eyed you with uncertainty, "We're still at the sabody archipelago."
All uncertainty aside, Benn knew what you were worried about, he had become able to read you very well. "...Really?" He nodded, a jolt was sent through your veins, you didn't know the layout of the land however, you did have faint memories of where your dad used to live. If he still lived there was beyond you, but it wouldn't hurt to try, right?
Of course not. To her just trying would be the least she could, you had a burning passion to finish what she started oh so long ago.
She grabbed a transponder small, "I'll be back." She ran off, jumping off onto the dock, sprouting a tail, ears and shrinking in size as red fur covered her small frame as she scurried away, before anyone could object. She ran on all fours all around the small pelago, city after city around blocks and neighborhoods. Finally reaching a house that brought back a memory, a memory that had been burried and hidden in years of traumatic experiences. The house, that resembled the picture, that her father had showed her when she was younger, five years ago.
Her heart raced as she stepped up to the house and raised a hand to formally knock on the door. When she did, nothing changed, no answer, no noise, nothing but the beat of her heart.
Her heart slowed, it hurt as if it had actually broke. She carried herself to a small bar she had passed on the way to the house of utter disappointment. She pushed the door as it squeaked, she looked up to lay her eyes on shanks who was happily drinking and talking to someone, he looked at her.
"Oi! What'er you doing here, (y/n)?" The man sitting across from him looked at you too, with a gasp he dropped his glass as it fell to the ground and shattered. The black haired girl behind the counter looked at him in shock, "Rayleigh?"
Shanks looked at him, as he raised to his feet and began to walk over to you. The fog had lifted, as you realized who he really was, "Dad?" Small, salty tears escaped your eyes as you met him in the middle, running up to him hugging him, tightly.
"Dad?!?!?" Shanks asked looking at the two of you. "Wait!" Shanks yelled standing to his feet, drunkly stumbling a bit, "Ray.... You can't... you wouldn't have left... right?"
