Alex's pov ;

I'm currently at a party, drinking a beer with my good hand and contemplating about my life.
I got tired of watching people eat each others faces off so I got up and decided to go on a little trip to the kitchen and grab another beer.

One I've got my beer, I start to  head back to the backyard, dodging the crowds of seniors and juniors that somehow managed to fit into the small house.   I see Kat, she's dancing by herself, probably drunk, and she looks like she is having a good time but just as I was about to walk off I see Bryce walk up to her and forcefully places his hands on her waist.

A look of sheer fear spreads across her pretty face and she stops dancing.

I head over to her, walking as fast as I can in the condition I'm currently in.

"Bryce, get your hands off of her, just because you didn't get out in prison for that thing you did...doesn't mean you can take advantage of other innocent women."

He looks at me and sighs before leaving, he doesn't even care if he's confronted. What a pathetic excuse of a human being.

"Thanks.." Kat says to me, her voice shaking.  She takes my hand and I lead her into the kitchen so that we aren't surrounded by immature and horny teenagers.

"I didnt think of you as much of a party person." I tell her whilst pouring two cups of water.

"Staying at home, studying and being the goody too shoes of 11th grade is not getting me anywhere...I'm trying to improve my social life."

" I'm pretty sure you have some really good friends. "

I lean against the island and place my walking stick on the floor while looking at her sip the glass of water

"I always see you walking around school with Elizabeth, kel and chantel ... They're nice people."

"Thanks" that's all she says but it sends shivers down my spine.

Kat is beautiful anybody who said otherwise was blind. "Can I say something?" I slur. The alcohol is really getting to my head.

" I think you're really beautiful! "

Her face flushed a slight shade of pink and she nearly spits the water out from her mouth.

"Th- thank you..." She stutters.

The music from outside is turned off and somebody yells: "Truth or Dare."

Kat and I decided not to participate because we were still drunk and we didn't want to do anything that we would regret.

Bryce, being the pervert that he is kissed a girl who was then revealed to be Scott's girlfriend. Monty was dared to kiss zack, which didn't turn out very well, and everybody discovered that a junior ate fifty worms when he was younger.

I look beside me and kat is sleeping. I try my best to get her to the sofa at the back of the house with my walking stick.

By the time we both got to the couch I'm tired and kat is talking in her sleep. I sit there and force my eyes open but to no avail, I fall to sleep but the last thing that I hear is Kat mumble "I've always liked you Alex."
