Nice short chapter for you guys.

The stars shone like embers in the depths of the sky. The moon floated through angry clouds. The deep and lonly dark sky enveloped around me dangerously whispering to go home. The narrow path of the sidewalk lead me further and further from the closest thing I had once called home.

The night time air chilled me as I stepped on to the wet streets and sprinted across to the other side. I wandered deeper into the outskirts of my nieghborhood. I had been walking for what felt like eternity.

A wave of pain seeped into my heart making me gradually come to a hault.

I wanted Charlie to be here with me. I know she would have ran away with me. I knew she would have been on my side.

It had only been my first night out and lonliness was already starting to creep it's way into me, making me want to cowardly return home.

But I knew I could'nt stay there.

No matter how alone I felt. No matter how alone I was.

I grabbed my phone from my bag.

I had 56 missed calls. 50 from Ted. 3 from my mom, 2 from Calum and one from an unknown number. I felt guilty not calling Calum back. But I could'nt right now.

I briskly skim through my contacts. There was one person I knew to call when I needed something. I found their name on my phone and pressed the small green button on the corner. The phone rang quietly in my ear as I looked around anxiously hoping she would pick up.

"Melanie? " Her soft, smooth voice rang out, interurpting the silence around me. I felt relieved.

"Dawn, Hey " I said, my voice cracking tiredly.

" How are you hon ? " She asks me solemly. I could hear her light her cigerette and lightly blow out clouds of stress.

"Not well, I had to get the hell out of my house Dawn. I need your help, I dont know where I am." I explained to her walking slowly towards a distant small town.

"Always getting into trouble.." She said and chuckled warmheartedly.

"I try" I said to her.

The town was filled with lights that shone even in the late night. There were small shops with darkly littled windows and small cafes that had seemed to be closed for eternity.

I knew I could find a place to go in. I just needed to keep warm. I brought my phone closer to my ear and crossed another street.

I heard a rusted voice quietly telling her to come back to bed. I imagined her in her pink satin robe, darkly lined eyes, with messy blonde waves and cherry red lips. I heard her shush him. He groaned and the bed creaked. I knew she was getting up.

"Stay where you are hon, Ill come find you alright" She said , reassuringly.

" Wait, Dawn, There is a cafe across the street. It's too damn cold. So I am going to go in ." I say, thanking the heavens for the 24 hour sign glittering under the moonlight. I looked up at the sign, reading the name.

"What's it called ? She asked me as I opened the door letting its inner warmth wrap itself around me. I sighed and walked over to a padded wooden booth. I slid in and rested my bags next to me.

"Sharon's" I said quietly looking around the small cafe. People all looked busy, on their phones and laptops. They all must have been night bugs like me. Why else would they be here so late in the night?
