We Are Alive (Markus x reader)

Final Hour

You were at the cemetery sitting in front of Carl's grave your eyes were closed just like how you sat next to Carl as he slept but now you know this time he'll never wake up you heard footsteps crunching under the snow making you open your eyes and then your head seeing Markus walking towards you once he was next to you he looked at Carl's grave

Markus: We're lost Carl I just wanted to live in peace but...everything I touch turns to dust I'm lost worlds falling apart around me and I'm trying to do the right thing and I can't find any answers...what should I do Carl? They're killing us...I don't wanna answer violence with violence, but what choice do I have? 

He looked at you before looking back at the grave

Markus: we miss you, Carl

You:....we miss you so much

Markus grabbed your hand helping you off your knees then hand in hand you walked out of the cemetery and stopped for a moment when you saw Leo but you both looked at him before continuing to walk away with Leo looking back at you

Time Skip

You and Markus returned to your new hideout that was an old church it was big enough to fit the surviving androids so it was enough you walked up to Connor to apologize for breaking his arm

You: hey Connor

You leaned on the wall next to him as he held onto his arms and leaned into the corner

You: I just want you to know that I'm sorry for what I did to you

Connor: It's alright I apologize for everything I've done

You: its ok you were just a machine but your place is with your people

You put your hand on his shoulder and smiled

You: still it's living proof that I can kick your ass

He let out a small laugh before you leaned off the wall and walked over to North

You: how's your system status?

North: don't worry about it I'm okay...the bullet didn't hit any biocomponents

You: great

North: you could have been killed trying to save me...you have to think of our people first, you have to think of Markus first nothing else matters

You: don't say that I'd be lonely as hell without you... North you're my sister your just as important to me as Markus is

You leaned your forehead on her shoulder feeling her arm going around your neck you stayed like that for a moment until your turned your head so your cheek would be on her shoulder

You: I love you North

North:...I love you too

You got up and went over to your broken window and sat down on the railing thinking about everything until Markus came and sat down next to you

Markus: how many of us survived the attack?

You:...a few hundred? Probably more if you count those hiding all over the city if you hadn't triggered the bomb we'd all be dead

Markus: they say they don't wanna take any risk with the deviants... So they're rounding our people up and taking them to the camps...for extermination in a few hours we'll be the only ones left 

You: in a few hours it'll all be over we'll have changed the world or the world will have destroyed us you have to make a choice, Markus but whatever you chose, we'll all follow you...I love you Markus
