Helpless

Simon

It had been a quiet journey to Joshes home, the silence only being disrupted by Simon asking Markus a question every now and then.
By the time they got back, Simon knew a few more things about Markus.
His favourite colour is blue, but only baby blue, not just blue, other than that, he really likes silver.
He wants a small dog, he'd call it something like Ray.
He wants to make a difference in the world, Or help people at least.

".." Simon looks at the house when they get there, trying to ignore the small feeling of fear that built up in his stomach.
Whilst to others, the home was a nice place, comfy and with a lot of small places, to Simon it was like a cage.
He doesn't know when the abuse started.
He's forgotten by now.
But it still hurts as much as the very first time.

It was Joshes hand on his shoulder that brought him back to reality.
"Go help Markus with his bags. Show him the guest room."
He was quick to nod and get out of the car, looking up at Markus as he now stood beside him.
"Do you want me to carry your bags?"
If josh says to do something, he definitely does it.
But he does pay attention to others as well.

"I'm okay, thank you, Simon." He Nods at him, an appreciative smile on his face.
Simon returns the smile, walking inside and looking around.
"North! Markus is here." He calls up the stairs, waiting at the bottom.
There was the quiet sound of footsteps above them, making their way around the corridors and down the stairs, before North threw herself at Markus, smiling.
"Markus!"
They've not seen each other in a while, if you couldn't tell.

Simon tries not to laugh, watching as Markus stumbles back, holding onto the wall to ensure he didn't just fall over.
Simon watches them and for a moment he felt..
Jealous.
He's not even known Markus for a day. How can he like him already?

Josh walks in behind them, closing the door behind him and watching them both.
"North, get down." He laughs, Looking at Markus and shaking his head.
He missed Markus too, but you don't see him jumping on anyone.
"Simon was about to show him to the guest room."

"Okay, okay." North climbs down, running a hand through her hair, braid shifted about because of the recent movement.
"I've missed you."

Markus was going to reply with a comment along the lines of
'Oh really. I couldn't tell.'
But he decided not to.
"I've missed you too."

"..Come on, Markus." Simon looks over at him, stood on the stairs and waiting for the boy to go with him.
Markus turns away from North, nodding at Simon and following him.
