North walks down the street, hair in a neat braid, wearing her normal outfit that consisted of a shoulder-less long sleeved shirt and some black jeans with thick wedged boots.
She spares a glance to her friend as she walks alongside him, studying him in the split second she'd looked.
No matter how many times she thinks about it, she just can't figure out why he became so bitter.

He'd been with Simon for a while now and they were happy for the majority of that time, so why did everything go wrong? She can't figure out what caused it no matter how hard she tries and it's beginning to confuse her too much.
She reaches into her back pocket, taking her phone out of it and unlocking it, putting it to her phone as she calls Markus, waiting for him to answer.

"Who are you calling?" Josh looks at her, tilting his head with a small smile on his face as they walk alongside each other, holding a bag in his right hand and keeping his left hand in his pocket.
He's always been rather nosy and things like that were beginning to make sense.

"I'm calling Markus, just letting him know we're on our way back." She returns the smile, it's fake but it's good enough for him because he gives a little hum and looks forwards again.
That's the thing about North, she's learnt how to fake a smile and make it seem genuine.

"Hello?"
He sounds tired, like he's just woken up and North can hear Simon mumbling quietly. Had they taken a nap? God, it's a good job she's called, she strongly doubts that Josh would've reacted nicely to walking in on Markus and Simon cuddling up to each other in their sleep.

"Hey. Just giving you a heads up, me and Josh are on our way back, we'll be home in around ten minutes." She smiles softly, Taking her phone away from her ear to check the time before putting it back.
She used to love Markus, but she realised she wasn't his type. She did have a crush on her friend Chloe Kamski, but she didn't act on it.
And about Markus.. his type seemed to be boys-
(Joking, I Stan a bi-icon)

"Oh.. Alright." Markus drawls and she can hear the shuffling. He sounds rather disappointed, he must have been having a nice sleep.
She can hear Simon talking about dreams and she rolls her eyes, laughing quietly. They really had just fallen asleep.
Dorks.

"Okay. See you in a bit, bye." She laughs, putting her phone in her pocket and glancing to Josh when she caught his eyes on her, turning to face him and raising an eyebrow.
"What?"

"You going to tell me what's so funny?" He laughs, nudging her side as they walk down the pavement, sighing.
It hurts her for a moment - not the nudge, Josh was only joking - but it hurts her that he doesn't know. He doesn't know she's unhappy with him and he doesn't understand that things between them are different now.
In a way, she feels like she lost her best friend because this abusive piece of shit was not Josh.

"Oh. Yeah. Markus fell asleep. He's like a zombie right now." She looks at Him, punching his shoulder lightly as she would any other day, although today's punch seemed a little bit tougher than the others.
He spares no thoughts to it.

"Them two have been spending a lot of time together lately." He looks Down, murmuring as he speaks. He shouldn't be jealous, they were just friends and that's all they'd be, Simon was loyal.
Wasn't he?
Well, he wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't. He's really treated him like shit.

He shakes himself out of his thoughts, watching the sky as they walk, sighing through his nose and turning  to North.
"You know what? Forget I said that."
He knows Markus wouldn't do anything.
It's funny, he thinks that but just now Markus had been asleep with Simon resting on him with his head snuggled under his chin and he had a protective arm around the blonde the whole time.
Just bros being bros.
