" Is she awake ?" A well built white haired man asked .
"No grandpa she isn't . The doctor says that she fell down due to exhaustion and when she will get up , she won't be able to walk for a few days . She has put her feet into walking too much " A boy of thirteen said with his eyebrows scrunched together .
A slight movement caught his attention.
The girl laying in the bed fluttered her eyes open and with those big eyes she scanned her surroundings .
" Good you woke up " the boy said to the girl who in turn landed her green eyes on the boy .
She had no idea where she was so she kept on looking at the boy in a defying manner .
Seeing the look on the girl's face , the boy let out an amusing chuckle which only offended the girl more .And before the boy knew , the girl lifted her upper body and and launched her beyblade so fast that the whole room went eerily quiet .
The beyblade had shown it's small stunt and had filled the room with dense smoke making everyone in the room to cough .
The girl's plan was to keep everyone covered in the smoke so that she could run away . But when she kept her feet on the ground , she stumbled and more pain erupted her body and she groaned inwardly .
Before she knew , the dark - blue haired boy had also taken out his beyblade and with the help of his bit - beast , he had cleared all the smoke.
" Whoa there .... Easy girl " . An old man with his ever cheerful and concerned voice came to the girl's aid .
" Don't touch me . I'm fine thank you . I can take care of myself ." The girl replied back .
"Ya . We can see that you can perfectly take care of yourself . " The dark - blue haired boy commented sarcastically .
This earned him a glare from both - the girl and the old man .
"Don't heed him . He's a fool . But come I will help you . Trust me ." The old man said softly to the girl and without waiting for her response , he scooped her in his arms and kept her in the bed .
"Where am I ? " The girl finally asked when she was settled in the bed .
" You are in my dojo . " Replied the old man and before the girl could speak further , the old man cut her off " I am Ryu Granger but you can call me grandpa . And this boy out here is my grandson Tyson " Ryu introduced .
" Oh " was all the girl's answer .
" Really ? Is that what you are supposed to say after an elder person introduces himself ? Have you no manners at all . " A screeching voice of a girl made the three of them turn their head in the direction of the door in which the girl was now leaning with an irritated expression along with a small girl wearing big glasses on top of her head who was oblivious to the sudden mood swings of the other girl .
" Oh come on Hillary . She is taking her time to familiarize with us . " Grandpa Ryu answered the short tempered girl who seemed to be having a glaring competition with the girl laying on the bed .
"Kenny were you able to fix the mood of your Dizzy ? " Tyson chimed in .
" No Tyson she seems to be angry with me for not informing her that I wouldn't be able to take her with me to the BBA's official meeting ." The girl whose name was Kenny said with a defeated expression.
Grandpa Ryu let out a chuckle and turned his attention to the girl in the bed who had her eyes closed to shrug off Hillary's accusing stares .
" Forgive Hillary for her temper . But would you like to introduce yourself and tell us more about yourself or your family ? " Grandpa Ryu asked .
" I'm Pearl and I don't have a family . " She answered after a moment of silence contemplating her answers .
" Well Pearl where did you stay before you passed out in the woods ? " Tyson asked out of curiosity .
" In the woods " was her curt answer .
Tyson looked at grandpa who had an amused expression contrasting to his who had a scowl .
Grandpa let out a chuckle and in that moment Hillary and Kenny entered inside the room and plopped themselves next to Tyson who happened to be sitting in the floor next to the window .
All of them looked at Pearl who had her eyes closed to avoid further interrogations about her life and family .
" Once the pain in my body subsides , I'll leave this place and will forever be grateful for your help . " Pearl spoke after some time .
" We didn't help you to achieve your gratefulness . We did that out of humanity ." Hillary replied which clearly was an indication that she didn't like Pearl .
" Well thanks for the humanity you showed. And I promise that when you will be in need I will help you . " Pearl replied calmly without any hint of irritation and malice .
And that stunned everyone in the room . Because whenever Hillary showed her temper towards someone , the latter would become irritated . But Pearl was not someone who would be offended this fast . And this intrigued as well as relieved Hillary to some extent .
