" The BBA association has decided to add new things in the championship . And as per the instructions there will not only be beybattles." Mr Dickenson said .
And that made eyebrows rise up .

Pearl noticed that everyone's eyebrows were up and if it hadn't been the fact that Kai was sitting right in front of her giving her death glares then she would have laughed her hearts out .
" What else are we supposed to do other than bey battling ? " Tyson asked in a Duh tone .

" First of all the teams will be six members in a team . And rest is Surprise . " Mr Dickenson said with a mischievous grin .

" Six ? Me , Tyson , Kai , Ray and Hiro only add up to five .! " Max shouted .

" Then find one otherwise you won't qualify for the next round . " Mr Dickenson stated as a matter of fact .

" Kenny ? " Ray looked at Kenny with a hopeful expression .

" Whoa ... Don't look at me like that . I want to assist you guys in improving your game . Not be a part of the actual game . Hands up... I meant no offence ." Kenny answered with a nervous tone .

" What about Daichi ? " Tyson asked .

" He is in his tour of achieving greatness in the field of beyblade by travelling the world and competing with various bey bladers ." Hillary answered with pride at the mention of Daichi's decision .

" That kid will never be satisfied with what he has will he ? " Tyson huffed .

" Well he has got that from you " Grandpa exclaimed .

" Whatever ." He said rolling his eyes .

Pearl smiled at Tyson's behaviour which profusely reminded her of Liam .

" Pearl aren't you a beybladerer too ? " Hillary asked grabbing everyone's attention .

" M...me ?" Pearl stammered .

" Oh ! Yes . You are a beybladerer too . Remember that day when you attacked me in the room attempting to run away ? " Tyson asked with excitement .

" Oh .... That... uh .. "

" We will not take in our team a girl with no identity and talent . Who knows she might be someone who would bring destruction to our team . Who knows she is a spiteful , weak and pathetic girl who knows nothing but to destroy peaceful things . Who knows she is wearing a facade of innocence luring people into her venomous life .!" Kai said with a calm yet spiteful voice which shocked everyone in the room except for Pearl who knew this could have been worse .

" Kai ! How dare you say that about her ! Do you even know her ?! " Hillary shouted utterly pissed at the way Kai had behaved .

"Kai what was that ?" Tyson said in a defensive tone .

Seeing Hillary and Tyson defend her , Pearl smiled knowing that they were there for her .

" I don't even wish to know her . As I said who knows she might be a mistake in disguise . " He spat looking into her eyes and Pearl could only feel the hate and coldness radiate towards her .

She had always feared the day she would again meet him . She had prepared herself for his hate and blame but what she had not prepared herself was for the pain she felt because of his behaviour . It was difficult for her to explain the pain but she was not the one to back down easily .

She had mastered the art of masking her emotions very professionally . No , it was not her maturity that helped her mask it . It was her experience that pushed her to the point where she was no longer was the expressive , wild , cheery and loveable girl she used to be .
Every time Kai gave her an accusing glance , she held it with defiance even though she wanted dig a hole in the ground and bury herself .

" Enough of it children .! " grandpa Ryu stood up from his seat and and went to sit next to Pearl .

" Are you a real beyblader ? " He asked her .

" Y..yes I am . " Pearl said looking into his eyes which made her feel like home .

" You see we have less than a week to register for the championship . We have no time left . And I've seen you launch that beyblade of yours at Tyson which was quite impressive . And seeing that we have become a family in the small amount of time you have been with us , I would like to request you to join this team . " He requested with pleading eyes which made Pearl suspect the championship. But this was Ryu Granger . Always to the point without twists and turns .

She was at a loss of words . She had come to love grandpa , Tyson , Hillary and Kenny . She felt like she was home when she was with them but obviously , fates are always cruel to her . They never let her be happy and now she was in a situation where she had to choose between her pride and heart .
Her heart belonged to beyblade and this new family of hers but her pride was also big enough to let the kai hiwatari crush it everyday . And staying in he championship meant inviting blame , humiliation and spite everyday.

" I am sure that we will be able to find an excellent beyblader . Why take her in ? Our team is not in a pathetic condition as to take her in . " kai said with arrogance which made Pearl determined to choose her pride over her heart.

" I guess he is right . This team surely requires the best and not a lowly beyblader like me . Plus I have decided to continue with my journey . I heartily thank you guys for taking care of me and giving me a place in your house and heart ." She said meaning every word and once she said that , she saw despair in grandpa's eyes .

" I would like to go back to my room and prepare myself to leave . " she said and proceeded to walk towards her room .

" Don't do that " Hillary said and caught her hand .

" I would like to Hillary . " She said and smiled at her for she didn't know what came into her when Kai implied that she was a worthless piece of shit .

" You can't leave like this . " Tyson protested and caught her hand .

The little scene unfolding in front of their eyes amused Ray , Max ,Kenny and Mr Dickenson while it only irked Kai .

" I want to leave . let me go back to my room . " she unclasped her hands from their hold and once again proceeded to go towards her room determined to not take any of Kai's shit.

" You once spoke about returning the favour of helping you that time . Do you remember ? " grandpa suddenly asked which made Pearl go dead in the tracks .

" Well then I ask you to return this favour now . "
