Finding the forest dweller went a lot like finding themselves some new clothes: quick and calculated. With the clothes, however, it went a lot faster and Todoroki and Bakugo soon found themselves in either too baggy or too tight articles. But they could still move so that was all that mattered.
With the forest dweller they had a couple extra steps in planning. Bakugo had climbed to the top of the tallest tree he could find, checking the moon so they would know how many days they needed to wait until the full moon. Werewolves were stronger on the full moon and vampires were stronger at night so they planned for their attack to be exactly then.
If they messed up then they would have to wait until the next cycle to defeat it, gather more allies (which Todoroki doubted Bakugo wanted to do), or have someone else deal with it and simply avoid the monster at all costs.
The inevitable encounter sent shivers throughout Bakugo while Todoroki remained stoic to the idea. He never got excited for fights like Bakugo and doubted he ever would. He just saw them as either a nuisance or a necessity depending on the situation. Bakugo, on the other hand, thrived for the fight. It made him feel alive.
That's why, he probably enjoyed this Tournament of Difference much more than Todoroki ever could.

The forest dweller in front of them looked just as menacing as it did the first time. For both Bakugo and Todoroki this was their second encounter with the beast, and just like the first, they were stunned into silence. This unnatural, ill intentioned beast in front of them was a powerful force like an iron wall not to be broken.
Much to Bakugo's distaste, he had become the bait instead of Todoroki. Vampires were agile and stealthy which made it easier for Todoroki to hide out in the trees and wait for an opening while Bakugo baited the forest dweller, dodging each blow the beast tried to swing at him.
The monster had no real strategy, simply swinging its body or enormous hands in Bakugo's general direction hoping to strike him with his talons and needle-like fur. That would be a shitty was to go, crushed to death in a spike-filled teddy bear hug.
Like hell Bakugo would let that slide.
"Over here you oversized furry kappa!" Bakugo yelled at the forest dweller as it once again deluded its attention from Bakugo. For a second he thought it noticed Todoroki but then realized it was probably too dumb to notice left from right.
The beast swung at him again, ripping a bit of Bakugo's pant leg as he was too busy trying to get him closer to Todoroki. He took a few more small hits, not totally paying attention as he attempted to locate Todoroki. God, could the vamp cut him some slack? He was tired and wanted this shit to be over with. This was why he never teamed up with anyone.
Finally, Todoroki attacked, jumping onto the forest dwellers balding head which made it cry out in pain, sound loud and irritating. It thrashed wildly, bumping into trees and trying to rub his head against them to get Todoroki off him. Bakugo struggled to dodge the wild, sporadic attacks as Todoroki clamped down on his head, extending his claws until they formed something like a large knife and brutally stabbed into the beasts head straight into its brain.
It cried out even louder, sound blowing out both their eardrums as he flailed one last time, crashing forward but not before he grabbed onto Bakugo, ripping his talons cleanly into his back and deep into his skin. Too deep.
As the forest dweller finally fell Bakugo went along with him, barely able to keep up with the constant ringing in his ears and the unimaginable pain that seared through him.
Was this it? Was this how he was going to go? Teaming up with some vamp to kill some random monster that they didn't even need to touch? This sucked. He hated this.
