Solid, warm, cozy. These are the words that come to mind when I always think of The Burrow. "Hello?" I called out. Expecting Mollys' loud and strong voice to bellow out an answer instead, "Mama!" came my little girls squeak of a voice from the second floor. "Where's daddies little witch?" cried out Ron from besides Hermione. She instantly appeared and jumped into our waiting arms. "There you are Sabrina, I've been looking for you my love." Molly's exasperated voice made its way down the stairs. "Hello mum, how're you feeling?" Ron hugged his mother and kissed her cheek. "Oh. Uh, I'm fine Ronald. Just a wee bit tired is all. These old bones still haven't failed me quite yet." she replied with a huff of her breath.
"Hermione you look lovely." She greeted me with a hug. "Oh? What you got there dear? Is that sweets?" she asked looking at me with a small smile. "Yes. I know you said not to bring anything but it didn't feel right." I sheepishly looked at the woman giving her the sweets. "Well it wouldn't be you if you didn't bring anything would it?" she chuckled. "Mama, papa? You came to pick me up?" Sabrina asked. "We sure did my little princess, you had fun with your nana?" Ron asked her and she smiled widely at him. "Of course I did! Nana's house is so much fun! I got to play with Albus and uncle George came over!" she kept on and on about her weekend. Hermione looked up and saw that Molly seemed to have sat down while spacing off. 'She must be thinking of Fred. She always goes to blank when her surviving twin is mentioned. Poor thing, she must still be in a world of pain I know Ron gets upset with thinking about that night.'
"Mama?" I was brought back to the living room with my family. "Yes dear?" I looked from Molly to Sabrina. "Why didn't you come yesterday?" I looked at Ron and saw him duck his head and looked at Molly who seemed to be listening intently for my answer. I was never late picking up Sabrina, she was more important to me than any job or appointment. "I-I-well," chuckling nervously I opened my mouth again, but Ron beat me to it. "Fay got hurt princess, and mama had to take her to Saint Mungo's." He said stumbling with his words a bit flustered. I looked at him and then back to Sabrina and Molly.
"That's right dear, Fay was hurt and mama couldn't leave her at home. So I took her to get better." Molly gasped. "Is the poor thing alright? What happened?" I nodded and responded calmly, "Well you see, she fell trying to reach the stairs and tripped. Next thing I knew she was on the ground with a split lip and broken arm and a what looked like fractured leg." I made sure to look at Ron the whole time, so he knew what was done to Fay and me was not forgotten. He blushed red and looked away. "Goodness! That sounds awful. I hope she's alright, I'll send her some cherry pie." Molly got up and went to the kitchen. Sabrina was absentmindedly playing with her red Weasley like hair and biting the inside of her cheek.
"Don't do that Sabrina. You know daddy hates it when you bite yourself." Ron scolded her. "I'm sorry daddy." Just then there was a knock and then the door flew wide open. "Well, well, well, what kind of trouble do we have here ay?" An all to familiar voice came jokingly through the air. "George, is that you?" I joked along with him, "I can't tell with all that age on your face." he laughed while holding his chest feigning hurt feelings. "Hermione you wound me. I might need some sessions after that." I chuckled. "Hey there Ron, how are things in the Auror business?" He asked his brother who just sighed and shrugged his shoulders, "I dunno, busy I guess. We all got assigned a new case just last week. Been up to my ears with paper work and interviews." George just nodded and sat down. "Sounds painful. Hello my little bug, how are we this fine day?" He smiled at Sabrina who just laughed at her silly uncle.
"Is it just you tonight George? Where's the twins?" As soon as I said that I heard giggling from across the room next to the sweets pantry. "Winifred! Freddie! If you go near that pantry.." Molly shouted from the kitchen. "Mom's got wicked hearing." George replied snickering. "I didn't even see them come in." Ron said unnervingly. I just laughed knowing all too well the twins got it from the wicked creature sitting in front of me. He just winked at us and called to the girls. "Oi, what are you two troublemakers doing now? You listen to nana now, before she comes out here and makes you eat all those candies." he said jokingly earning him a chorus of squeals.
The girls appeared next to Ron scaring him in the process making the rest of us laugh. "Bloody hell George, these girls are going to kill me." George rolled his eyes and mock punched his brother. "Calm down you pixie. They can only scare you half to death, mom wont allow the full death." He joked making Ron look even more afraid. The twins looked like Angelina Johnson their mother. After Fred died we all went to check up on Angelina. She somehow found solace in George, it later turned romantic and resulted in the twins being born. Shortly after though Angelina disappeared, abandoning her two children and George. Rumor has it that she went to America. George didn't want to look for her and neither did the Weasleys. George hasn't looked for another partner since, it's been three years.
"Hello my little Freds. How are we doing today?" I asked my arms outstretched towards them. George named them each a form of Fred in memory of his twin. Angelina was upset but went along with it. "Hello Aunty 'Mione, we are very well thank you. Hi Sabrina!" They said in unison giving me a hug and rushed to hug each other quickly disappearing upstairs. "They get lovelier every time." Ron smiled at their backs and looked to his brother who seemed to be lost in thought. "Geor-" Ron was cut off by a loud voice coming from behind them.
"Oi! Gingersnaps and Bookworm! Is that anyway to greet a beautiful lady?" Ginny Weasley called out to her brothers and best friend. "Hi baby sister, it's so wonderful to see you all big and round-like." George called out and laughed at her posing with her huge belly. "Jealous I know." She laughed wiggling her eyebrows at him. "My God, Ginny! You just don't stop growing!" Ron exclaimed wide eyed. "Ronald Weasley! If I weren't pregnant with this beautiful baby girl I would hex you so hard, you would end up looking like a freak show." Ginny looked him straight in the face and smiled. "Oh Ginny stop scaring the git and sit down." I called to her and she smiled and nodded. "Oh 'Mione, I missed you." She hugged me. "Aw, Gin I did too." We stayed like that for a while.
Moments later Molly entered the room. "Ginny! You're here ! Where's Harry?" Ginny waved at her mum. "Away on business, you know Aurors." She nodded and said, "Get up then. Lemme have a look at you." She stood and turned this way and that. "That's gonna be a Weasley all right. Big belly for a big girl, you look wonderful my dear. You must be starving love, come on pip pip. Off to the kitchen." She ushered Ginny away and we all followed after. "Did you see that? Mom didn't even notice us here. All she cared about was looking at that belly and feeding her. I mean I'm starving too you know!" Ron whined and we all laughed, "We know!" Both George and I said. "I mean if I were Harry I wouldn't let Ginny get fatter than she already is. I mean what's gonna happen after the baby is born? Ginny is gonna look massive after too!" He practically shouted.
We both looked at him and stopped following after him. Taking three steps back each, knowing that we should be at least ten feet away from him. As Ron reached the dining room the next thing we heard was Ginny shrieking and Molly laughing at her no doubt fearfully wide eyed son. "Ronald Bilius Weasley!" We all saw her throw a hex at him. That's what he gets for being a git.
