I take the phone in my hands and stare at the number. It's the same number.
"Pick it up! He'll hang up! What are you thinking about?" Maddie says, signaling me to pick up fast.
I pick up, and place the phone close to my ear.
"Hello?" I hear from the other side.
I try to say something but it doesn't come out.
"Hello?" He says again.
"H-hello?" I stutter.
"Is it you? The airport girl?" He asks from the other side and my eyes go wide.
It's his number. I'm talking to Jungkook, the realization just setting in.
"Y-yeah." I say, and stare at Maddie with wide eyes.
"Well, why didn't you call?" He says and I hang up. I throw the phone on the bed and leave the room.
"What happened?!" Maddie asks, following me.
"It was HIM!" I almost shout. Maddie squeals.
"I can't believe it. Why did he give me his number? Does he do this often?" I say, walking in circles around the dining table.
"Woah! I'm star struck and I haven't even met him!" Maddie says, following me.
I move back to my room and Maddie comes in too.
"What did he say?" She asks, jumping about.
"Nothing much. I hung up." I say and look at her, knowing she might kill me the very next moment. She stops jumping and looks at me, giving me a weird look.
"Miss HwaYoung, did you just say you hung up on Jeon "hottie" Jungkook?!" She says, now with a poker face.
"Yes?" I say, with my shoulders up and apologizing.
She then proceeds to give me a lecture on why you don't do what I just did. I can only sit and see her talk on and on. She's very talkative. And she was triggered.
"I'm sorry." I say, and end it. She then hugs me and tells me to call him back.
"No! Never! I won't call him." I say, and shake my head. She gives up with a sigh.
"At least answer him properly if he calls. Got it?" She says, and I nod.
We go out for dinner a while later. That's how the day ends. It was a long day.
As soon as we come back, I take a shower and go to sleep.
"Hey! You're not up for a midnight talk?" Maddie asks me, as soon as she comes out of the shower and finds me tucked into my blanket.
"Tomorrow, please? I've had a long day." I say and she nods, giving me a smile.
She turns off the light and we settle in for the day.
