The group came back together around Qrow. However, that was a couple of hours ago. Now, you and your friends and brother were sitting around a campfire after Qrow had just informed you all of what could only be described as life altering and just insane. Magic, maidens, Ozpin. After his explanation, you just sat in shock next to Ruby, who was leaning against you, your arms wrapped around her.

On the log next to you two is Ren and Nora, also sitting in shock. On the far side log is Jaune and your brother Flynn, who seem to be more infuriated than anything else as Qrow just took a swig from his flask.

Qrow: Really? No questions?

(Y/N): Are you kidding me?! Magic, maidens, Ozpin seemingly keeping that from us all. And people hunting down Ruby because of her eyes! You don't think we have enough questions?! You don't think that we-

Flynn: (Y/N)! Cool it! Even though I do agree with you on that note. (To Qrow) I've known Ozpin since I was 8 years old, that was 18 years ago! Why wouldn't he tell anyone?!

Jaune: Exactly! Why keep that away from us? From Ruby?!

Ruby got out of your grasp and sat up on the log she shared with you.

Ruby: Jaune, it's fine.

(Y/N): No! It's not! (To Ruby) You are under threat! Danger!

Ruby: I can take care of myself!

(Y/N): Because earlier today worked out so well!

Qrow: HEY! (You both look at Qrow) Would you two either get a room or keep quiet! You're stressing me out.

Flynn: That's...your niece.

Qrow: Your point?

Flynn: (Scoffs) Whatever.

Jaune: Can you just tell us what's going on?!

Qrow: Not many people are super religious these days.

Qrow caps and sets the flask down.

Qrow: This world's been around for a long time, long enough that people have created dozens of gods. But if you believe Ozpin, two of them are actually real.

Pan over to a nearby large rock, where Qrow's story is illustrated with a display of light and shadows from the campfire.

Qrow: They were two brothers. The older sibling, the god of light, found joy in creating forces of life. Meanwhile, the younger brother, the god of darkness, spent his time creating forces of destruction. As you can imagine, they both had pretty different ideas about how things should go. The older one would spend his days creating water, plants, wildlife. And at night, his brother would wake to see all the things that the elder had made and become disgusted. To counteract his brother's creations, the god of darkness brought drought, fire, famine, all he could do to rid Remnant of life. Life always returned. So one night, the younger brother went and made something - something that shared his innate desire to destroy anything and everything.

Ruby: The creatures of Grimm.

Qrow: You guessed it. The older brother finally had enough. Knowing that their feud couldn't last like this forever, he proposed that they make one final creation... together, something that they could both be proud of, their masterpiece. The younger brother agreed. This last great creation would be given the power to both create and destroy. It would be given the gift of knowledge, so that it could learn about itself and the world around it. And most importantly, it would be given the power to choose, to have free will to take everything it had learned and decide which path to follow - the path of light or the path of darkness. And that is how Humanity came to be.
