After arriving in Mistral, you were able to get Qrow needed medical attention and patch up the rest of the group who were injured in the attack. The six of you then rented out a house in the middle grounds of Mistral in order to keep out of the low life and dangers sections of the city, but nothing too pricy for you all. After Qrow awoke from resting up, things seemed to settled down, as you all began to adjust to the new living situation. Certainly, it was better than inns and the ground from the last 8 months.

After spending an entire day resting, Ren had begun to grow a garden in the back. Flynn was busy training Jaune and Nora out back. You were in your given room, sitting on your bed, clearly in some form a deep thought. That is until you heard a cute little cough to gain your attention.

You smiled and turned to face the entrance of your room. Standing in the doorway was Ruby, giving you a rather chipper smile. She walked into the room with a little skip in her step and stoped right before you.

Ruby: Doc's said that Uncle Qrow will be alright. He just needs a few days of bed rest.

(Y/N): Well, that's a relief.

Ruby: Yeah. I know right.

There was some awkward silence between the two of you. Ruby and you both had your eyes dart around the room, trying to formulate answer. While doing so, you both let some chuckles, as you both knew what the other was attempting to say and do.

(Y/N) and Ruby: So I was thinking...oh (laughs) You first. No, you. Ok this is weird! Stop that! Stop it now!

You both broke down into laughter once again. Ruby had broken down so much that she had to lean on you for support and almost started to hyperventilate. You were both able to calm down and regain your thoughts.

(Y/N): Alright, you first.

Ruby: OK. So, I was thinking, maybe you and I could...maybe go on an actual date? I mean, I know it sounds corny and a little stupid but, I was just thinking that since we've been on the road for 8 months and we haven't really done anything as a true couple since before Beacon. So, I mean, if you want to, I would really like that.

(Y/N): Same here. Which is why I've been interrogating my brother for the past few hours. He told me about this one place. Family friendly. It's in one of the higher parts of the city. If you wanted to go-

Ruby: YES! I-I mean. Yes. That sounds like something that wound interest me.

(Y/N): Ok, you don't need to become Weiss. I love you cute little Rosebud more.

Ruby: And I love my...er...

(Y/N): Still haven't thought of a nickname?

Ruby: It's hard, ok!

(Y/N): (Chuckles) I never said it was a problem.

Ruby: (Sighs) Ok.

(Y/N): Well, on that note, (you extend your arm for Ruby) Shall we, m'lady.

Ruby: Look who's being formal now? (Thinking) YES! He called m'lady! I'm a m'lady!

Ruby wrapped her arm around yours and you both set out into the city for dinner. After walking for just a bit, you and Ruby arrived at the place known as "Cardinal's Grill". The place was known for grilled dinners, basically everything there was. You and Ruby were able to get a table overlooking a vast majority of the city.

You both were in awe and wonder as across the night sky was lights like little stars. Everything was finally at peace with the world around you. After achieving your orders and drinks you both began to eat. The food tasted amazing, probably because all those rations and scraps the six of you had for the longest time were necessarily that good either.

As you were eating, you couldn't help to just admire Ruby as the stars illuminated the night sky. She quickly caught on and stared lovingly back into your own eyes. After a couple minutes you decided a little flirt trick you picked up from Gure.

(Y/N): So...eyes are just that good looking.

Ruby: Yep. Mine are too.

(Y/N): Oh, you bet they are.

Ruby: Anyone ever tell you how cool you are.

(Y/N): Yeah, this one girl. She's something alright. Silver eyes, adorable face...sexy attitude.

Ruby pulled back and blushed heavily.

Ruby: Uh-

(Y/N): I'm not wrong.

Ruby: I-I mean-

(Y/N): Or am I just saying what you to hear?

Ruby: Oh-Oh, uh.

(Y/N): Well?

Ruby: I-, uh just forget it.

Ruby leaned in and kissed your lips. You moved your hand up and cupped her cheek while your other hand took hers. You could feel her tongue trying to probe into your own mouth. You decided to play coy and deny the entry. That is, until Ruby moved her hand from your own and hit your weak point, just under your chin.

Once she did, your mouth dropped open and she invaded your mouth. However, you were able to fight off Ruby and soon, broke the kiss. You both sat down in your seats. Ruby giggled a bit at the action. After dinner was over, you and Ruby paid and left the restaurant. On the way back to the house, you passed a large park with lanterns and an entire floor for dancing.

Both you and Ruby saw the sight and turned to one another.

(Y/N): Well...you want to?

Ruby: I-I cant dance really well. And, you and I aren't really dressed for it.

(Y/N): Hasn't stopped us before.

Ruby: Yeah.

You and Ruby walked down to the pavilion to enter the place to dance. Once you entered, the two of you walked over to a far off corner of the area. The musicians began to play a slow violin piece and the two of you began to dance.

It was times like these were you remembered times at Beacon. The good times, where you and your friends would just enjoy one another, have parties, eat lunch, pass and fail classes together. It was the life. It was times like these that made you value everything you all had gone through for months.

The two of you kept swaying to the tune of the music. As you were, you both locked into each others eyes once again. As you did so, you both leaned down and captured one another's lips in a kiss of love and passion. Unlike the last one, this one was full of love and passion, kindness and need for the other.

Ruby: I love you.

(Y/N): I love you too.
