Mythological creatures (Chapter 19)

Loki's POV

Leana's memory finished and we all sat there taking in what we had just seen. I then realized how Leana's and my life were kind of alike. Being lied to, abandoned, finding out what you really are...

All the Avengers were now watching before they had been watching from the security cameras but decided to come and watch in person instead.

Leana slowly opened her eyes. I could see her pain and sadness in her eyes. It hurt me to see her sad.

"I think you should get some rest Leana. We'll continue this another time." Thor said. Leana nodded getting up slowly. She then walked off without saying a word. I looked around at the others. "What does that mean?" I asked.

"I think I know what she is," Bruce said. "Then tell us!" I blurted out losing my patients. "I need some more time. Tony will help me with the research but I think I know something about her," he paused. "I think she comes from mythology, like you and Thor." he looked at Thor and I. "But I need some more time, I'll get to you guys in the morning. For now, you should all go rest. Tony, you stay with me."

"Yeah, and about her ears and tail, they should be gone by morning." He finished. I nodded and got up leaving. The others returned to their rooms as well. I was about to enter my room when I saw a figure sitting out on the balcony.

I walked over and noticed who it was.

"I'm sorry you had to witness that.." she said. I was surprised at the fact she knew I was behind her.

"How did you-" before I could finish she lifted her hand pointing to her wolf ears.

"Oh right.." I came up beside her and sat down. Her feet were dangling off the edge of the balcony and I did the same.

"I just.. Don't know who to trust anymore," she said. "My father abandoned me as a child because he thought of me as useless, but then later used me after finding out what I could do. My mother hid secrets from me all my life, not to mention she wiped my memories and made me think I was human and my father just disappeared all along. She hid what I really was... But why?" I could tell she was trying her best not to cry.

"I know exactly how you are feeling right now, finding out that you've been lied to your entire life," I replied. "The same thing happened to me, with Odin. He isn't my real father, Frigga is not my real mother, And Thor isn't my real brother.."

"Well, I would assume all of these things, seen as you two look nothing alike." Leana joked. "Yeah," I looked at the stars. "After I found out I was devastated. All I wanted was to be Thor's equal after that, I wanted to prove to Odin that I was a worthy son. I tried banishing Thor to Midgard, I tried becoming King of Asgard... But I failed, as villains always do," I paused and looked at Leana who was paying close attention.

"I let myself fall into a void that day, I did it thinking I would die but instead It felt like I was falling forever, then I eventually stopped. And met him..." I stopped for a bit, recalling the horrible torture.

"What do you mean him, Loki? Who was it?" Leana asked. I sighed. "Thanos, a very powerful monster, a Mad Titan. I made a deal with the man, that I would bring the tesseract to him in exchange for my rule over earth, he gave me the scepter which I later found out was a mind control device he was using on me,"

"When Thor found me he took me back to Asgard, I tried telling him everything I knew about Thanos, but he didn't believe me. He thought it was my fault, and all my doing. I don't blame him though. Afterall it was my fault trying to become a King."

"He brought me back to Asgard and I spoke to Odin. That was when I found out my punishment," I paused. "H-he said to me that he was disappointed, that my birthright was to die. He told me I could never see Frigga again and I would live the rest of my days in the dungeon. I was locked up in the dungeon for a few days when Thor came to visit. Well, I thought he was just visiting."
