I came to my senses slowly, the sun filtering through the curtains and gently hitting my face for long enough to wake me up. After a few moments of staring back at the ceiling, memories of yesterday night came seeping in, and I didn't even try to fight the smile that took over my face, rolling over onto my side.
I blinked a couple of times, slowly noticing that the room I was in was not the room Jooheon showed me to, and where I was meant to be sleeping right now. I bolted upright, surprising him, who was walking out of the ensuite. "Damn," He chuckled. "do you wake up this alarmed everyday?"
"No, I just noticed that I wasn't in the right room," I replied, watching as he dried his hair with a towel. "good morning."
"Good morning," he mused, coming to sit beside my leg with a lazy smile. "how are you feeling?"
"I'm feeling better, yeah," I nodded as he touched my forehead. "I really hope I didn't pass the cold to you. You can't afford to be ill today."
"I don't think you did, and yeah, today is the big day," he proceeded to lay down as I did so, head resting on my chest. "I think my Mom, my sister and her bridesmaids have gone to the spa already and they should be back rather soon to start getting dressed. The ceremony is to take place in the field down the road, the reception is downtown."
"I see," I replied. "how are you feeling, groomsman?"
"I'm relaxed. They're so in love with each other, and Heesun has been planning for this day since...around when we met." Jooheon turned over on his front, now facing me.
I moved my hand to his head, raking it through his damp hair, the gesture causing his face to flush red. After a few moments, he laughed.
"What?"
"When you look down like that your face is all squished up and your double chin comes out."
"I must look amazing."
He placed his hands either side of my head and pulled himself upwards, so close that the tips of our noses were touching. I laid motionless beneath him, basking in the dizzying feeling of my heart slowly giving out on me. "You look adorable."
"Can I?" I blurted.
Jooheon chuckled gently. "I think after yesterday you have a green light to do whatever you want."
Before I could potentially talk myself out it I closed the gap between us, pecking his lips a couple of times before a longer, more profound kiss. Can I really do this now?
"We should probably move before I refuse to do anything else and we never actually attend the wedding." I said after a couple of minutes, his eyes thinning into crescents, and my heart exploding for the billionth time. Jooheon stood up, also pulling me up with him before showing me to the en suite.
After my shower, I threw on a hoodie and some shorts, following him downstairs to the kitchen."There you both are!" His father boomed excitedly. "I thought you'd just forgotten and fell asleep."
"Heesun would have our asses, but no, it was just a little bit hard to wake up," Jooheon shrugged. "have you all eaten?"
"We are a while ago, but I can get someone to make you guys food?"
"No, it's fine, I think we've got it," He smiled to me, gathering food from the fridge. "What are you feeling? Because I don't know if I want something cooked because I'm literally going to spend the day eating but at the same time..."
"How about we just make some waffles and have cereal? If you get hungry you can have the waffles." I suggested.
"I like your thinking." He winked and I was incredibly thankful that I was leaning against the counter otherwise I would have hit the ground and then have to do a lot of explaining to his Dad and the other 5 men sat at the table.
As Jooheon heated the waffles, I grabbed my phone.
