quick disclaimer because I'll forget by the end of the chapter bUT all the quotes said on this chapter originate from a novel I have previously mentioned, which is called Black and Blue by Anna Quindlen. they are not mine, and all credit goes to her and her publisher 💛
It was roughly 6am when I was pulled out of my sleep by the doorbell ringing frantically. For moments, I stared intensely at the door, then suddenly sprung into action and bolted in its direction, a very shaken Woobin on the other side.
"Have you seen Jooheon?!" He basically screamed, clawing at his hair. "I thought he came in late but he didn't and he won't answer the phone and-"
"Relax," I said, rubbing my eyes. "he crashed here, come inside."
"Oh, thank God," he breathed a sigh of relief as I directed him to the sofa."I was so worried about him."
"Wait here, I'll go get him," I replied after handing him a glass of water. In my room, Jooheon slept peacefully; one pillow between his arms, one under his head and half of the duvet on the floor. I shook my head with an amused smile, tapping him awake. "Jooheon? Wake up."
"Hmm."
"Wake up."
"Hm- oh," he snapped awake at the sight of my face. "where am I?"
"You're in my room, you were off your head yesterday and ended up here, serenading my flowers," I chuckled whilst he sighed, flushing red even under the low light of the first rays of sunlight "but Woobin's here. He's mad worried about you."
"Oh, God." He muttered, jumping out of the bed and leaving the room faster than I have ever seen him move. At this point, Changkyun had also been woken up, and Kihyun was in the kitchen preparing his morning coffee.
"Oh, thank God," Woobin sighed as he pulled Jooheon into his arms. "I was so worried about you."
"I'm okay," he chuckled. "just had too much to drink last night and Minhyuk kindly helped me out."
"Award willing performance last night," Kyun smiled. "get drunk more often."
"Ah, thank you," Jooheon chuckled back. "who are you?"
Changkyun looked to me, and all I could do was laugh. "This is my little brother Changkyun, you tried to sniff him last night."
The poor boy blushed once more, so hard I thought his blood vessels were going to give out, "I'm so sorry."
"No worries." Changkyun replied.
"What happened to your eye?" Woobin asked, carefully looking at the gnarly bruise on his face.
"I got into a fight last night, but it's okay, I'm fine," he smiled. "let's go, I've bothered you enough."
"Always welcome to come back," Kihyun appeared. "and make sure to ice that, and look after yourself."
"Will do." He replied with a smile.
"Whoever did that had a mean hook," I shook my head. "damn. You bette have got them back hard."
"I hope so too," Jooheon chuckled. "anyway, thank you again and see you around, yeah?"
After they returned back home, I fell back asleep for a few more hours, then got myself ready for work. I wondered if Jooheon had work himself today, as he wasn't at the café at the usual time, or any time after that.
"Have you seen my drink?"
I was pulled out of my thoughts when I detected an unknown face in the kitchen. He was blonde, but the tips of his hair were dyed blue, styled away from his face. Overall, his physique gave him a really intimidating presence but that disappeared the moment he smiled. "Did I scare you?"
