The Daughter of Poseidon

Chapter 7

Noah introduced himself to Percy and lead us to Poseidon's palace. Percy and I held onto his hands (Mermaids or merman swim way faster). But of course Percy had to ask why I ran off.

"Ava, why did you run off?"

"I thought, you'd be, I don't know, mad?" I said.

"Ava I would never be mad. I'm happy I have a half sister!" he exclaimed.

"WAIT!" I yelled and Noah stopped.

"You heard that?" he said.

"Um, loud and clear." I said.

"It's the sea sorceress." He looked around and found a patch of seaweed.

"Hide in the seaweed!" He swam us into the seaweed and we were hidden, all of us. After the sound disappeared I asked the obvious question.

"Who is the sea sorceress?"

"Her name is Tryphosa. She has a daughter that's just as evil as her. Her name is Katrina. Come on, we have to get to the palace, were almost there." Noah said. He dragged us out of the seaweed and we were on our way to see my dad for the first time.

As we got closer you can see more mermaids and mermen around. But as we were getting even closer, I had a lump in my stomach. I was scared. I was meeting my father for the first time in my 12 years.

"We're here." Noah said. I got so nervous, you don't even know how nervous I was. I started hyperventilating.

"Ava? Are you ok?" Percy asked me.

"No. I'm nervous."

"Well, trust me. You won't be having 11 more gods looking down on you while you met our dad." Percy said sarcastically. I didn't want to ask about that. But, awwww. He said 'our'.

"Ok?" I said. I sorta calmed down but I was still scared.

"I'm ready." I said. I tried to be confident. It can't be that bad, right? Well, the palace was huge. I knew I would get lost if you left me alone in there.

"Noah, how do you know your way around here?" I asked.

"I'm one of Poseidon's messengers. I'm supposed to know my way." He replied.

"He's top messenger because his dad was Poseidon's army general. Something like that." Percy explained.

We got to these large set of doors and Noah told me that this was the throne room and he had to talk to Poseidon first.

"I'll be right back." he said and he opened the doors and vanished.

I heard a couple of laughs, sighs, etc. And all of a sudden, I heard Noah faintly. He talked about me hearing the sea sorceress. After that there was a long silence. And I heard a grumble. After that Noah came back out.

"Okay guys. You're all set. Come on!" Noah gave us his hands and we went into the throne room.
