The Daughter of Poseidon

Chapter 11

I woke up to a knock on my door. I got up and said, "Come in." Noah came in. "Good morning, Ava. Poseidon wants you to meet him in the throne room." Noah came over and put his finger to my head. I felt a zap of electricity. "Hey!" I said. "Sorry, Poseidon told me to do that. Now you should know the way around the palace without anyone guiding you." After Noah said that he swam right out of the room. I did my hair, made it look really pretty and transformed into a mermaid. My hair had beach waves in it and I found 2 starfish clips, so I clipped them on too. And after a good five minutes, I was going to see my dad.

"Good morning Ava." He said. "Good morning dad." I said with a smile plastered on my face. He came over to me and we talked while we swam together. We stopped off at the command room and talked.

"Ava, I talked to Percy last night," Poseidon took a deep breath. "And he told Annabeth about you being a mermaid, so I also had to tell Chiron."

"Oh well that's fine, I trust both of them." I said. I just didn't want Percy telling anyone else.

"And, dad, why did you bring me in the weapon room?" I asked.

" To give you this." He gave me a sword.

"No way,"

"But not just any sword, Harpe. The sword of Perseus." He said. "Try it." I took it and it was perfect.

"You can test it out in the back. In the back you can practice. There are dummy's that you can rip open. Test it out and come back to me here." He also put a belt around my waist so it could hold my sword. I put my sword into it holder/case and went off to the arena to practice.

After an hour of practicing I was on my way to meet my dad but then I heard a voice, "Help me!". I turned around and saw a mermaid stuck under a rock. I went to go help. When I got there the mermaid looked like she was 12, like me. She had blonde hair and her eyes were a blue-ish green. Her tail was a bunch of different shades of blue and she had a teal top.

"Finally someone-" She started to say.

"You're Ava! Oh my gods, I'm actually meeting you in person! I can actually tell Noah that I saw her too!"

"Noah? I know who he is." I said. "Are you his brother?"

"What?! EW! No, we're friends." the mermaid said.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Alex. Short for Alexandria."

"Let me help you." I willed the currents to let the big rock float for 2 seconds so she could get out.

"Thank you!" Alex said.

"No problem! I have to go, my dad wants me to meet him." I said.

"Well I'll catch up to you later!" Alex swam off in a hurry and so did I.

When I got back to the command room Poseidon was standing there smiling.

"What?" I asked.

"You're just so kind! It's good that you grew up to be kind. And I see Alexandria has gotten herself into more trouble."

"She always gets in trouble?" I asked.

"Eh, one-way-or-another." He said. "But smart girl, and kind."

"And speedy," I added. 

"Ava, go back up to camp, Percy's waiting on the beach and Chiron has to tell you something. You'll come see me later, but first," He took my hands and they started to glow. "Now you can water travel. All you have to do is," He showed me how to do it and in 2 seconds a portal appears. He made me change back to human form. He told me to think of an outfit I wanted and then 'snap' i had it on. *AN: The outfit she thought of was this;

After all that, he told me to go and meet Percy.

"Bye dad, I'll see you later." And with a flash, I left.
