“Hey,” I said grabbing my phone out of my pocket without looking at who it was.

    “Hey,” Kriss said.

“Hey, gorgeous, How’s Aristole?” I asked going outside so I could hear her.

“I haven’t seen much of it. Just from the car to the palace, and they’ve kept me in my room since. It’s gorgeous here, though, Drew,” she said excitedly. She was happy over there.

“Well, that’s good. Is there a time difference?”

“Yeah, eleven hours,” she giggled. I missed not being able to see that smile as I heard it.

“So, are you ahead of us eleven hours?”

“Yup, it’s ten here.”

“Why aren’t you asleep?”

“It’s all so different. The sounds, the smells, just everything,” she sighed.

“I’m sorry, babe. I wish there was something I could do to make it better.”

“It’s okay. It’s my choice, plus just hearing your voice helps,” she sighed.

“I love you,” I said.

“I love you too.”

“I better let you go so you can get some beauty sleep. Not that you need it or anything,” I laughed.

“Haha, real cute, babe,” she joked. “Will you watch me on TV tomorrow? It’ll help because in a way if you’re watching we’re still together,” she said.

“Yeah, I will. I love you, princess, get some sleep,” I said.

“I love you too,” she said then the line went dead.

************************************

“Your Highness, may I come in?” Fiona asked.

“Yeah,” I said. It had been forty five minutes since I got off the phone with Drew, so I didn’t understand why anyone would be awake at this ungodly hour. I couldn’t sleep in such an unfamiliar place otherwise I would be passed out.

“We have gotten back the results from your physical,” she said anxiously. “Our medical system is highly advanced and very accurate.”

My heart started to race seeing her this nervous.

    “Okay?”

“Princess according to the test results it says that you’re with child.”

“What? Th-that’s impossible,” I stuttered. I couldn’t be pregnant. How? We- it- it only happened once, I’m not sick in the morning or anything.

“Who is the father?” she asked ignoring the pandemonium on my face.

“Drew,” I whispered. “My fiance.” Drew and I are going to be parents.

“Who is Drew, Your Highness?” she asked confused and concerned.

“Andrew Blake. He’s from my ho-home town. We are to be married, but it doesn’t matter because I’m not pregnant. I couldn’t be. It’s impossible, the test is wrong.” My head was spinning in a million different directions. I can’t be a mom yet. Drew and I need to physically be together to raise a kid. I can’t do this on my own.Yet, I have this tiny piece of Drew inside me. I needed to talk to him about this.

“Can I call him?” I asked.

“Absolutely not! We cannot let this get out. If anyone ever learned of this it would make you a laughing stock. The fact that you are dating a commoner from a different country is one thing, but the fact that you are going to be a parent before you have even been married is completely different,” she snapped back into her usual self.
