I got out of bed bright and early that morning, walked across my squeaky floorboards yawning while rubbing my eyes that were pierced red from last nights tears of anger. I washed my face here for the last time, hell, everything I did here today would be for the last time. The memories would forever along with the flashbacks, yes, but I'd never have new ones. Never again.

Slinging my suitcase of an old Adidas bag filled with two pairs of shoes, all my seven shirts and four pairs of ripped on accident jeans along with an old peach jar filled with my mom's old credit card, and pepper spray over my shoulder I entered our small bathroom and grabbed all the facial and hair care products I could fit into the remaining space in my bag. If I was going out into the real world, I was going to do some legal stealing from my guardians for the last time.

Walking through my house I looked at the wall where Martha my step-mom chased me with a knife but ended up missing and stabbed the wall. The kitchen table where I'd scream at my father to divorce her every morning before school. The living room where I tried to sit and do my homework but could never even start because of their loud arguing they refused to take any place else. Lastly but most importantly, the front door I'd always slam on my way to school upset and angry every single morning for the last four years.

My whole new life was going to start now, and it started and ended with me. Ever since my biological mother passed away four years ago things went from sad, bitter, to the end. I knew it was hard on my dad. He and my mom had been together since high school of their senior year, through college, and everything in between it all. When they got married my mom was already a month pregnant with me. After me, they struggled to get pregnant for years, but finally when I was ten, My mom Celeste became pregnant with my brother who we named in her tummy Cyrus.

My parents seemed so happy for the first time in a long time. Every day since the day they found out neither of them stopped glowing for a minute as if every day was their honeymoon.

But the day he was born, is when it all came crashing down.

"Mom, Mom?"  I had asked seeing her struggle with giving birth as I looked through the small window beside the door. I knew even then this wasn't good by the look on my dad's face.

"Everyone out now!" A doctor called bursting into the room.

My dad screamed for my mom as he left the room escorted out by nurses and staff crying. He spotted me in the chair looking through the small window and cried seeing me.

"You look so much like her now." He had said under his breath.

"Dad where's mommy? Why isn't she coming out with you?"

His breath rattled and my moms scream agonisingly came from the room beside us. I peered inside once more but she was no longer moving, and a high pitched steady beep erupted from the monitor.

"Sana, baby don't look please..." He asked picking me up and carried me away from the window into a chair far away.

"But I wanna see Mama!" I pleaded.
