"Shouldn't they be back by now? I'm getting worried. What if something happened to them? Oh my god... Jamal is going to find them." Reggy said pacing around the room fast enough to make his thin legs appear on the verge of breaking.
"Hey, stop. They're far away from here, I asked Eddie to make sure weeks ago him and Sana chose a place far away from town. If anything we should be worried about ourselves. Plus Sana has nothing to do with any of this." I said trying to calm myself down.
"Aydin, she's with the man who's last name is on the whole damn operation. We put Jamal's family and every one of his hundreds of clients at a place to sell us out because we stopped distributing. I'm not going to stay here knowing they might be at risk of death." He said ripping at the seems of his blonde hair.
"This is ridiculous. He threatened us over a voicemail. If he was going to do something, he would've done it by now in person." I said sighing on the outside while slowly freaking out on the inside.
I glanced over my shoulder to see Yuza entering the living room where Reggy was now pulling out the remains of the bright blonde hair dyed pieces. We both looked like messes. The dye we used to hide our identities was showing once again, reminding me of the mess of my childhood by getting closer to the roots of my natural hair colour. Yuza glared at us angrily sending me into a slight panic. Her stare was cold and unwelcoming, as I'm sure she was still pissed about the apartment incident. I couldn't blame her. We burned her job to the ground as long as some of her favourite tenants at the apartment complex. Though seeing her stare at me was not as near as bad as her gaze at Reggy. For some reason they hated each other to the core by nature, and no one could seem to stop it.
"What're you lookin' at? Wanna take a picture of me, tourist?!" He lashed out angrily seeing her even look at him.
She huffed and smirked at him glancing at the mess of pieces of hair on the floor. "I wouldn't want such an ugly reminder of America's true colours. Drugs and idiots." She said sending me into a small rage of snickers trying my hardest to hide them from Reggy.
"You realise we're both drug selling idiots." He said getting close to me to the point where I could sense the stress illuminating from him.
"Obviously. But Reggy, get a hold of yourself. Eddie and Sana are fine. I know he made every instance possible to make this night memorable for her. So please, take a warm shower, and in the mean time I'm going to re-dye my hair. You should do the same." I said getting up and walking over to the kitchen grabbing a Target bag full of cheap bright blue and platinum blonde hair dye. Tossing the blonde boxes from the bag into Reggy's arms send him into a fury of hitting the boxes away as if they were bombs instead of beauty products.
He shook his head as if waking himself up and back into our reality and not the one in his head. "Y-you're right. God I hate this shit. If only we didn't stop dealing we wouldn't be in trouble with our biggest buyer and second hand distributor. I can't believe he wouldn't take the company when I offered it to him though, I thought he really needed the money." Reggy said picking up the boxes.
"With all the cops going around recently, I can't blame him. We almost got caught this morning, and with the left over supplies under the floorboard of your bedroom, we have enough to land us in prison for life." I said un-boxing the dye.
"What do we do with the rest of it? We can't sell it. Or Sana like the police dog she is would find it and shoot us dead."
I smirked to myself for a second glancing up and shifting myself to face Reggy again and gave him the nod he knew all too well.
"We use it and abuse it." I said raising my hand for a high five which Reggy returned.
"Let's dye these mops and have some fun." He commented whooping and hollering running around the apartment giddy.
