Part 5

Dally POV

I went to the police station, and they found out about Kitty. They said I couldn't have custody. But they wouldn't press charges. As long as I find a legal guardian for her. Im not good with all that legal stuff, so I'll ask Darry. How will Kitty react?

Kitty POV

I wasn't feeling too good, so I went to  the hospital. I fainted when I got to the desk...

When I woke up, the nurse told me what happened. She said I should call someone to get me because I shouldn't drive. So I called Dally with the little tan phone in case he was home. No answer. Typical Dallas. Then I looked in the phonebook. They have everything you need to call someone. And found the Curtis home. "Hello?" It was Darry "This is Kitty." "What happened?" I explained what happened. "Dally isn't home. He didn't answer. Can someone come pick me up?" "Well none of us can. But TwoBits here. Let me ask him." There was fuzzy mumbling. "TwoBit can walk over there. Why can't you drive yourself back home?" "Apparently I could faint again while I'm driving. Dumb hospital. This place gives me the creeps." "Okay. He'll be right over." "Thanks." "Welcome. Bye."I got dreased, and thank god my makeup was in my purse. TwoBit came and found me in the room. "Hey KitKat, what happened?" "I fainted. No big deal."

TwoBit POV

Darry told me what happened with her and Dally last night. The side of her face was bruised all over. "You're face is still bruised. Dally hit you hard, huh?" She nodded. Obviously it was a sensitive subject.  "He got called into the station," she said. "Well thats worth another nickel," I tried to cheer her up. She smiled. We walked past her motorcycle. "What about your bike?" I asked. "Eh. I'll get it later. I locked it anyways." I had to ask her now while we were alone. "Kitty. I need to tell you something." "Okay." "Even though I just met you, I really like you. You're not like any other greaser girl I met before. You're funny, kind, tuff, and beautiful. Would you go out with me?" She blushed and said, "Well I like you too. And thanks. Yeah I would go out with you. But what about Dally?" "He'll let you." She nodded and said," Okay. Well I guess we're dating now." She giggled. I love that giggle.

Darry POV

Dally came to the house, and told me what the police said. None of us want Kitty to leave. We all love her. I had an idea, but I don't know what Dally would say. "Well- I could try to get custody of her." He said, "No no no. You already got Soda and Pony." "Its alright. She's not hard to handle. She mostly takes care of herself. Come on. It's the only way." He agreed. We just have to wait till TwoBit gets back from the hospital.

Kitty POV

TwoBit left after I got to the house. And when I walked up the driveway, Dally came running towards me and we hugged. I know- it's unusual for him but he loves me and I love him. "Thank god you're okay!" he said. I was crying. "I'm sorry I went home alone. And Im sorry I got you mad," I said through my tears. He looked at me," No. I'm sorry I got mad. And I was overreacting. We only got each other." I nodded. "But Darry and I need to talk to you about something very important. But I dont want you to get too upset."

Darry POV

Well we explained to her what was gonna happen. She put her face in her hands. "No. I can't be taken away again. I can't do it! I just got my brother back! Listen I've had this situation before, and it sucks! Why does this always happen!?! No. I'm- I'm- gonna go crash my motorcycle. I can't take it anymore. She was standing up. "I'm gonna go crash and die." They both yelled "NO!" and Darry picked her up, and locked the door. "Now I know you don't want to, but you know how my police record is. They just wouldn't let me. I can still see you." She hugged me. I hugged back, and I didn't want to leave her. "Well let's go get your motorcycle, and you can go get your stuff. Come on."

Darry POV

I knew Kitty was upset, so I didn't take it to offense when she didn't want to leave. I dont know how it feels to lose a sibling. But she doesn't have any other family. At least I got Soda and Ponyboy. In my opinion, Dally is good to his sister. And all siblings fight. One time I hit Pony cause he came home late. When they came back, Dally said goodbye. When she came in the house, she dropped her stuff and hugged me. She took me by surprise. "Thank you, Darry." I hugged back and said," No problem, Kitty."
