Bianca's P.O.V

IT'S SCHOOL TODAY.

I walked into the kitchen then find Zoe, Shawn, Antonio and Asher already seated on stools with their plates of cereal on the table and glass cups filled with orange juice by their side.

"Good morning Bianca," Shawn greeted softly. I stuff my hands into the pockets of my grey hoodie and give him a curt nod.

I took a seat next to Antonio. "Hey, are you excited for your first day of school?" Antonio asks me with a smile. He puts a casual tattooed hand around my shoulder and I feel my body tense. He realizes and quickly redraws it after remembering I'm not a fan of physical contact. "Sorry," he mumbled quietly.

I sighed and rest my head on the island, the cool surface helped my pounding head instantly. Fuck insomnia.

"I'm not excited. At all."

I don't remember the last time I went to normal school, I attend online schooling. I stopped going to regular school after my sister died because teachers started asking questions and I didn't have anyone to help lie about my wounds or the courage to tell them she was killed by her own father.

I guess I wasn't the only one who went through online schooling, everyone else did. Honestly, I prefer it than to go to regular school a hundred percent - but I unfortunately have to.

Zoe sat across us with an empty bowl, she poured the fruit loops into it and gave Antonio a blank stare.

"Who is ever excited on their first day of school?"

Antonio rolled his eyes at her rhetorical question and turned back to me with a shrug. "I know I sure wasn't. I mean, I finished high school like four years ago."

Antonio is twenty two years old, he graduated high school when he was eighteen but dropped out of college at twenty. The only reason he dropped out of college was to protect his mother - who is presently married to my terrible and abusive man of a father.

Ronaldo uses his mother to make him do whatever. Antonio's mother is his weak point, and if he doesn't do what Ronaldo wants, he harms her. It's been like that since his mom married my dad six years ago.

Back then I was just eleven. Antonio has always been like a big brother to me, he always protected me and treated me with care, but never when Ronaldo was around - I understood that and never questioned him. I know how it feels to loose someone important to you, I wouldn't want the same for him. Being nice to me around Ronaldo could give him more trouble.

Antonio always did what he could to make me smile, and anytime people were hurting me, he would always try to stop them. He's the one that kept me going, until a few weeks ago when it all became too much.

"Bianca," a voice called, I looked up and found Asher approaching me, he sat on the stool next to mine.

"What?" I ask him.
