Bianca's P.O.V

RECAP

"Asher got hurt," Jasmine replied, my hands became damp. "He was shot," but by whom? "Don't worry, Caleb just called, he said it was only a graze on the shoulder, it was a deep one but he'll be fine and home by tomorrow night," I relaxed.

We all fell into silence, giving each other worried look as many thoughts occupied our minds. That was until Zoe decided to break it.

"I don't think we're all as safe as we thought we were," Zoe started and looked me dead in the eye. "It's only a matter of time before he finds us and kills us all," her voice became much harder after each word, the fear in her eyes slowly became clouded by anger.

As if knowing where this was going, Jasmine sighed, "Zoe-"

"AND IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT."

Zoe's words stung. My chest rose and fell faster, tears brimmed my eyes and I had to look down at my feet to prevent myself from having a break down on the spot.

She was right.

It was all my fault, my doing. If I had just left like I promised they wouldn't be running from Ronaldo, if I never agreed to go with Asher and the others that evening all this wouldn't have been happening.

Why do people always have to get hurt when trying to save me? I shouldn't be here, I should just go back to Ronaldo to prevent anyone else getting hurt. These people have done so much for me already, it's not fair to them. Linda is crying and it's all my fault. Asher is in the hospital and it's all my fault.

It's always my fault.

"Don't be silly Zoe," a voice snaps, I didn't look up from the floor and wiped a tear that escaped my eye. Why am I being so fucking sensitive? "It wasn't her fault, it was no one's. We are the one's that took her in, you know how much benefit she was to us, Asher knew what we were going to put our self through when he saw her at that lake," my head shot up and I realized it was Shawn who was speaking.

"He knew who I was?" I whispered to myself in thought.

"And I believe that night we discussed about this," he gave Zoe a deep frown. "Plus, Bianca's like family now," he turned to me and gave me a smile.

I've only known these people for two months, so I wouldn't say they are exactly like family. Especially when there are a lot of unanswered questions, but still, his words made a small smile form on my lips.

"Shawn's right," Jasmine said and placed a hand on my shoulder. "Even though we've only known each other for a few months I would consider you as a very close friend, or even a sister," she smiles.

In the illicit world it's incredibly dangerous to trust someone after knowing them for less than a year. Trust no one. Your best friend or sibling could betray you when associated with the wrong people, it's a messed up world so you always need to be prepared.

As thought ran through my mind I suddenly felt incredibly tense. I frowned, catching Jasmine by surprise. I glanced at Linda and noticed she was giving me a curious stare, she wanted to see how I would take all of this.
