Katherine was in love. The room was beautiful, at least in her opinion, it was.
The walls were a deep, dark brown colour, and it had a matching sofa in front of the fireplace with emerald cushions on it. She turned her attention to the king sized bed, which had the same dark brown colour as the walls, the bedding being that gorgeous emerald green. And of course, there were the usual bedroom things too, like the closets, but she didn't really care much about those at the moment.
She noticed another door on the other side of the room, which turned out to be the bathroom. It was alright, a normal bathroom, nothing much to say. Kat was happy with it.
When she walked out of the bathroom, she noticed Draco as he was looking around the bedroom.
"It looks awesome, doesn't it?" Katherine asked, offering him a smile and trying to lighten up the mood by starting a conversation.
"Well, I've seen better, but it's alright, I suppose."
The Hufflepuff couldn't fight back the little pout that appeared on her lips. That wasn't the answer she was hoping for.
Draco opened the bathroom door, took a quick glance inside, then closed it again.
Kat was about to ask him something else, but just as she opened her mouth, Draco beat her to it.
"I'm going to go look for Blaise. I'll be back later," he looked at her with an unreadable face, then just like that, he left the room.
Katherine's heart sank. She plopped down on the sofa with a sigh, burying her face in her hands.
"Relax," she told herself. "It's going to be fine. He only left to make sure his best friend is okay, it has nothing to do with you."
She got up, then she walked down to the Common Room, finding that it was empty. She sighed, then she walked outside.
"Leaving so soon?" She heard.
Turning back, she saw that the old lady was smiling at her from the portrait, she was alone at that time.
"Yeah," Katherine sent a weak smile her way, shrugging her shoulders.
"Don't worry, child. Everything's going to be fine."
"I hope so."

Katherine was looking for a new book to read in the Library when she accidentally bumped into someone.
"Oh, my bad. Sorry," she looked at the person apologetically.
"No, it was my fault."
Hermione Granger smiled at her, holding a book in her hands. Kat looked in her eyes, which seemed... Let's just say, sad.
"Hey, are you okay?"
"No," Hermione said with a light chuckle. "But I will be. Thank you, though. Katherine, right?"
"Yes," she nodded, a bit surprised that the Gryffindor knew who she was.
"Well, Katherine, I should be going now, but thanks again. I'm sure we will see each other soon."
Kat nodded again, smiling warmly at the girl, saying her goodbyes. That encounter definitely made her day a bit better.
Followed by a few more minutes of browsing, she finally found a book that sparked her interest. After she was done in the Library, she went outside with the intention of reading in the fresh air, but then she spotted Blaise and Draco talking. She stopped quickly, hoping that Blaise wouldn't notice her.
"Kat!"
Great! Now, what am I going to do?
She couldn't just walk away, that would be rude. They were fairly close too, she couldn't just pretend she didn't hear him.
Closing her eyes, she turned around and forced a smile on her lips.
"Hi, Blaise."
He walked up to her and gave her a big hug while she was trying her best not to make eye contact with Draco.
"How's your new partner?" Katherine asked, pulling away.
"A little difficult, to be honest," Blaise chuckled. "But we'll work it out."
"Great!" She grinned, reacting a little faster than a normal person would have. "Sorry, but I have to rush to the Library, I have to take back a book."
She held up the book in her hands as evidence, the one that she just checked out a couple of minutes ago.
"Why did you come outside, then?" Blaise stared down at her with a confused expression on his face.
Oh, sugar honey iced tea.
"I, uh... I forgot."
Great one, Katherine. You obviously cannot come up with a believable lie.
She accidentally took a look behind Blaise, her eyes meeting Draco's, who was standing with his arms crossed, a wide smirk on his lips.
Katherine bit down on her lower lip and glanced down at the ground, feeling embarrassed.
"Okay, well, bye."
She turned on her heels, scurrying back inside. She heard them laughing lightly and she could feel her cheeks warming up.
Oh, how I love making a complete fool out of myself. I should have just stayed inside.
She hurried back to their new Common Room and said the password to get in, then she ran up the stairs and made her way towards her, well, their bedroom.
The girl closed the door behind herself, then she put the book down on the little table between the sofa and the fireplace.
Kat sat down, looking at the fire burning in the fireplace, zoning out completely.
After Merlin knows how long, she heard someone knocking on the door. She knew it wasn't him, he wouldn't knock, it was his room too after all.
She got up and opened the door, seeing her best friend standing outside.
"Hey, Annie."
"Hey, I just came to get you, we're heading to lunch."
She nodded, then they made their way down to the Great Hall.
