Shadow(Lancelot) x Reader Part 1

Casual.

It was a normal day in the kingdom, after the illusion of King Arthur was defeated and the defeat of Merlina, beauty and peace was once again restored to the land.

You were one of the maids that was working in the castle of the true King Arthur, you got along with everyone, including the closest knight to King Aurther, Sir Lancelot.

As your were bringing a basket full of fresh fruit and vegetables to the kitchen, you saw two knights of the round table, Sir Gawain and Sir Percival walking out of one of the grand hallways.

"(Name)" said Sir Percival.
"Greetings Sir Percival, Sir Gawain. What do you need of me?" You asked them.
"King Arthur seeks an audience with you, at the entrance of the knight's training field" Sir Gawain answered.

"The King seeks an audience with me?!!"

The two of them nodded their heads. You then looked down at the basket full of fruit and vegetables.

"Alright, just let me bring this basket of fruit and vegetables to the kitchen" you say.

Sir Percival spoke up.

"There's no time. You cannot keep the King waiting. Here let us bring the basket to the kitchen for you" she said with a smile on her face while she was taking the basket out of your hands.
"I cannot, I am the maid here" you say, trying to take the basket back.

It was then Sir Gawain's turn to speak up.

"Nonsense (name), you are much more than a mere maid. You are most certainly our friend"

You couldn't help but to smile.

"Thank you, that sure means a lot coming from both of you. Now I must go as you said I cannot keep the King waiting"

*time skip*

You then spotted the King. You walked up to him.

"You wished an audience with me, my King"
"Indeed I did and I give to permission to call me by my real name and only my real name, (name)"
"So, what did you want, Sonic"
"I want to invite you to tonight's ball" he answered.

You were surprised when he said this.

"May I dare ask why"
"Lets just say a certain knight of the round table wanted you to be there and wanted to dance with you and you only"

He than looked into the distance, you followed his gaze and saw Sir Lancelot training with one of the knights. Sir Lancelot than looked your direction smiled at you then continued training.

You looked at the ground and started talking.

"It's an honor Sonic, but I have nothing suitable for a ball"
Sonic looked back at you as you were talking to him. When you were finished he just smiled.

"Don't worry" he said." There is a surprise for you in your chambers. Might I surgest you go and find out what it is and get ready for tonight"

*time skip*

You went into your chambers (chambers is an old fashioned word for bedroom) and your eyes widened at the sight that was before you.

Time skip.

You had gotten dressed and had finished your hair.

You made your way down to the ballroom. As you entered the people couldn't  keep their eyes off you.

"You look behond beautiful, (name)"
