It's a cool fall afternoon. I show up to the high school. Zephyrs is painted on the one wall. I'm one of the first ones there.

"Hey Annie be careful!" Annie's mom yells out the window as she gets her gear from the trunk.

"Ya mom I will!" she replied.

"Hi Annie's mom!" I yelled.

"Hi Emma see you guys later." She said as she drove away. Annie looked mad that we couldn't get into the gym yet and had to stay outside of the building.

"So we can't get in huh?" Annie asked.

"Ya we can't. I'm cold." I said.

"Well let's go inside and warm up." She dangled a key to the door in front of my face.

"Annie how did you get that?"

"Coach gave us them the day we singed up. Didn't he give you one?"

"No. I told you I'm not a favorite like you. I just think you stole Ella's spare from her locker."

"You don't go to our school how did you know that!" She had a look of shock on her face.

"You told me you idiot!"

She stuck the key in the lock and opened up the warm school. It felt good. We brought our bags into the gym.

"Yo what up!" Nolee said as she entered the gym right behind us.

"Oh hey we just got in." I replied.

"Really how? Ella isn't here is she?" Nolee isn't always as smart as she acts.

"Well maybe because someone's a sly fox she got the key." Annie bragged

"You took her key! Dude you'll get in trouble!" Nolee yelled.

"Calm down. It will be okay." Annie reassured her.

I started to get my glove out.

"What are you doing? we can't throw yet we don't have the indoor softballs." Annie pointed out.

"We'll maybe your not the only sly fox on the team." I said dumping out six indoor softballs from my helmet.

Annie picked one up and threw it all the way to the other side of the gym. She ran to go get it. Just as she got to it I heard Ella outside the gym.

"Honestly dad I don't know how I lost it!" she shrilled.

"Hey how did you three get in here?" Coach said as soon as he saw us.

Crap. We are busted.

"Well," before I could get another word out Annie jumped in.

"Someone let us in."

"Ya it was the janitor." I quickly added on.

"Fine. Now do these softballs belong to the team?" he asked.

"No. You know my aunt owns a sports store. That's where I got them." Wow am I getting an attitude already.

Coach Hall just walked away. Mad that he couldn't catch us in the act of stealing. It's because me and Annie are October babies and we can lie very well. We just threw the ball around. Not including Ella. We are so mean. No one showed up. We really couldn't do much. We just hung out for on hour. We cleaned everything up and locked the door. I headed over to my moms car and put my stuff in the back.

"Listen we need to talk." Oh no. Mom said that one sentence that bring everything bad I did back. She said it as I got into the car. This is not good.

"Ya mom. What is it?" God am I nervous.

"You know ever since you came to play here for your team you've bin different. Is it because of the accident?" she seemed concerned.

"Mom! Why would you bring that up?" The flashback starts and I can't escape it.
