Her Brother

The next morning I woke up went to the bathroom did my business and then I went to the kitchen and made breakfast. Derek came down shortly after breakfast was done and instantly made himself a plate. After we ate breakfast we went to my room just to watch TV but mainly because I knew he wanted to ask about my brother and he did.
" So what was your brother like and what was his name?" Derek questioned me and I sighed running my hand through my hair.
" My brother was really kind and funny. He was really protective over me and he would always be there for me whenever I needed him. His name was Joshua but Josh for short. He was seventeen and was the star basketball player. He was also my best friend. Some people say it was my fault he died even though it wasn't. We were out in the woods around noon in broad daylight when it happened," I paused for a second crying slightly before continuing," I saw these red eyes watching us almost as if we were its prey. I told my brother about it and he told me to get behind him so I did. Then the creature shot out towards him and then Josh turned into the same creature except Josh had gold eyes. He turned to me and told me to run and when I looked in his eyes we both knew what the outcome would be so I was hesitant at first about going but then I ran and ran without looking back by the time I got back to the house I called the police saying that my brother was being attacked by something in the woods. By the time they got there it was too late they found his mauled body by the river. They claimed it was a bear attack but I knew it wasn't I think everyone did but just didn't know what it was so they said it was a bear attack. I guess I've always knew about werewolves but never wanted to believe it was a werewolf that killed my brother I just guess I was in denial." By the time I'm done telling Derek I'm full on crying. All Derek does to comfort me is hold me in his arms making me feel safe and secure because no words could give me the comfort I need.
