Genesis Bailey|Benji|

"Genny, what was your mom like?" Delilah asked me as I brushed her hair into a ponytail.

"I don't really remember my parents. But I always pictured my mom as beautiful and kind to everyone around her. I know when I see her I'll just know."

"I miss my mommy. Do you think she misses me?"

"I'm sure she does. Delilah, I promise you I'm going to get you out of here. Even if I don't make it, I'll make sure you do."

"I'm not leaving you-"

"Delilah..." I sighed. "Something could happen and it would make me feel better at least knowing I helped you."

I know Omar will kill me. He said it.

This was my second attempt at running away. I was running through the woods with about a dozen men hot on my tail. Some were shooting, but their aim was horrible because I had yet to be hit.

Thirteen and I had things done to me that I can't unsee or unlike. Everything had been taken away from me. I had no say. I didn't want this. I didn't ask for this.

I was so sure I was going to make it when I began to see a road. I could've made it. But one more step and my foot was caught in a bear trap.

"I'm so tired of chasing after your stupid ass." A male voice came from behind me before I felt the butt of his gun come in contact with my head and everything went black.

When I woke up, I was in Omar's room tied to a chair. He sat on the foot of his bed staring back at me.

"Why did you run away?" He asked making me look at him like he had lost his mind.

"Are you stupid? I don't want to be here!"

"Watch your mouth." He stood up and back handed me. The ring on his finger cut my cheek.

"Please just let me go home. It's been five years." My bottom lip trembled and my eyes began to water.

"What are you crying for? You have everything here. Clothes, food, your own room. I treat you better than any other girl here." He said like that was supposed to make up for dirty men raping me.

"I don't want to be here!"

"Well too fucking bad!" He leaned down to yell in my face. "You're not going nowhere, Benji. So you might as well listen and obey now. It'll save you a lot of beatings. You understand?"

"Yes..."

"You try to run from me again and I'll kill you. I'll kill you slow." He looked me in my eyes to show me that he was serious. The tone of his voice sent a bad chill up my spine.
