Genesis Bailey |Gen|

I sat at the table eating a bowl of Captain Crunch, while scrolling through my phone when I received a message.

Kazmir
U down to shoot something today??
-9:30 a.m.

"Girl, say yes!" Mikayla shouted from behind me making me jump. "My bad."

"I'm not going, because I don't even know him. Plus, I have to take Delilah somewhere..." I lied, which I could tell Mikayla already knew.

"You don't have to take Delilah anywhere because Zain is picking up Delilah later for ice cream and the zoo with Zola. You're a terrible liar"

I would love nothing more than to get out there and get a head start on my career, but it's risky. One thing gone viral and my location is compromised. Omar will know where I am and I'm dead..

"Genesis!" Mikayla snapped her fingers in my face, pulling me from my deep thought.

"I just don't know...maybe Zain was right. I should just focus on school and be out the way." I rinsed my bowl in the sink and sat it in there.

"I understand being out the way, but you're just going to shoot some pictures. You don't have to post them."

I sighed, "You have a valid point. You going with me?"

"Of course I am, girl. I have to make sure my client/ new bestie is in good hands." She said making me laugh.

Delilah came running downstairs and opened the front door where Zola and Zain stood about to knock.

"Delilah, you can't just go opening up doors!" I chastised her. Regardless if she thought it was them, it could've been anyone else.

"Sorry." She put her head down in shame.

"Genesis, chill out. She knew it was us." Zain stepped in.

"Don't go telling me what to do or say when it comes to Delilah." After the other day I'm not too fond of him so the last thing I need is for him to tell me what I'm doing when it comes to Delilah.

Zola came up and hugged me "I missed you, Genny. I haven't seen you guys in forever!"

"Inside voice, Zola." Zain told her.

"It hasn't been too long. But I miss you too." I smiled wile running my fingers through her curls.

Delilah ran to go out her shoes on with Zola following. Mikayla looked between Zain and I noticing the tension.

"You guys-"

"I'm going to get dressed." I cut her off, trying to brush past Zain, but he grabbed my arm stopping me.

"Where you going?"

"That's none of your business." My phone dinged and I looked to see it was Kazmir again. Zain noticed the name on the screen and scoffed.

"Let me talk to you really quick." He pulled me outside to the porch. "You just gonna disregard everything I've been telling you and still get involved with this person? You don't even know them."
