[Name] scrutinizes the page, has been for almost ten minutes now.
She isn't grateful for it at the moment, although she's fairly sure she will be later. Fucking bitch. Annabeth Chase is ruining her stupid life but the blonde is also her best friend, which she hates because blondie worries way too fricking much. Lately, these pounding headaches have became more frequent and her head is pounding; she can't even concentrate. That doesn't mean she's dying, it's not unusual for her to have visions, it is usually a second of splitting pain and flickering images melded together, but they're more vivid than [Name] remembers them being. More coherent than she's used to and her efforts to clear away the Mist to see what is beyond are blocked by some force.
Of course, she confides to Annabeth. Blondie is her not directly blood-related sister. [Name] does find herself regretting it though. Sometimes, although she does find the Hecate Cabin homey, she would suffocate if she spends too much time with her siblings, because walking around the cabin, you have to be careful. One misstep, a hand slips, and then the entire room is demolished by an explosion of harpy feathers. [Name] is more careful with her spells, controlling the Mist isn't difficult, but she finds a gentler touch works much better than resorting to force it to follow her will.
She's designated the counselor, after Alabaster left, she was the one that had been around the longest, knew how to manipulate the Mist a little more than her siblings. Favored by the gods a little more. Maybe because despite her mother's alliance with Kronos, she had remained firmly aligned with her friends.
[Name] rallies the troops together, makes sure that the Hecate Cabin does not fall apart, because no one wants to be a tree, and that'd be hell to clean up. As a measure of safety, she's taken great care to engrave protective runes into the beads of her necklace and the columns of most of the cabins. Although it makes it a little more inconvenient, she swears, one of her siblings will summon some spell that will turn their arms into fins and then they'll be thanking her for magic-proofing these cabins. She loves her siblings, but they drive her crazy. The Athena Cabin is one of the few she didn't proof, because [Name] practices her magic there most of the time and one of the Athenians will probably solve the issue. Annabeth Chase will definitely find a solution, but sometimes [Name] just wants her friend to calm down and listen.
Blondie has her under house arrest, which is completely unfair, she's the head counselor of her own cabin and now her best friend is trampling all over her, Annabeth is giving a very detailed lecture on how to approach from henceforth. Usually, [Name] will complain, whine more than she is, all she's been doing today is nodding occasionally as she intensively studies her spellbook, while Annabeth paces back and forth. [Name] is actually relieved, she had murmured about the headaches without thinking the blonde would notice.
Since Percy's disappearance, Annabeth has thrown herself into her research, desperately trying to unearth any leads that might clue them into where he's gone. Her cheekbones are sunken, she's notably paler, her piercing grey eyes are hazed over with exhaustion. It's only been three days. 'It's obvious she's been neglecting her health.' The Athena Cabin constantly smells like fresh coffee and the primary consumer is not a rabbit but Annabeth Chase.
At least she's distracted now, it's good to see blondie take her mind off Percy for a moment. [Name] had mentioned the splitting headaches and visions of three teens, most definitely demigods. Two boys, one girl. The blonde could be a child of Apollo with sunkissed gold hair and clear blue eyes and then the girl appears Native American with dark hair and skin, her eyes are iridescent, that's what stands out to [Name] the most. But the dark-skinned boy engulfed in fire. 'He had an infectious smile... And sweet.'
She confided to Annabeth and discussed the dreams/ visions/ prophecies or whatever with Rachel for a while. The redhead looked concerned, and as usual (she's not even a daughter of Aphrodite what the literal heck, Rachel) sees right through [Name] and suggests to Annabeth that she of all people is harboring a crush on a boy she's never met.
