Chapter Sixteen

16 - Back

I woke up feeling so tired due to a lack of sleep. I slept for three hours only of too much worrying about how Jax was. I can't deny that I still care for him. When I left him last night, he looks devastated and hurt.

Before I open my eyes, I felt someone caressing my face. Oh my gosh! I felt the hand of the culprit holding my face and back to my hair. Dumilat ako at nagulat nang makita ko si Jax na nakatayo sa harap ko.

What is he doing here? Sinong nagpapasok sa kanya? At una sa lahat, bakit siya nandito?

"What are you doing here?" I asked. He glanced at me and sat on my bed. Namumugto ang mga mata niya. Like he cried, or he didn't sleep the whole night. Maybe both.

"I came here to see you, baby." I glared at him.

"Who let you in?' My forehead creased, looking at him.

"Si Tita Cassy." What? Is Mommy here?

"They arrived late last night." Paliwanag na tila nabasa niya kung ano ang iniisip ko.

"Go home, Jax." Pagtataboy ko sa kanya. Bumangon na ako para makaalis sa harapan niya.

"Cali, please. Let me stay." He almost whispered. Napapikit ako sa tinuran niya.

I shook my head as I exhaled a deep sigh. "Leave me alone, Jax. I want to be alone."

Nakita ang pagtango niya. "Baby, I won't bother you. Just please, let me stay here." He tried to reach my hand, but I didn't let him. Mas lalo akong kumayo nang tumayo siya mula sa higaan ko at nakaambang lalapit sa pwesto ko.

"We broke up last night, Jax. Ano bang hindi mo maintindihan doon?" Naiirita na ako sa kanya. Why won't he understand? Why won't he respect my decision?

"No, I didn't let you. Nothing can break us apart. I don't want to, Cali. I didn't agree with what you wanted last night. So, we will not break up." He looked teary-eyed.

"You let this happen to us, Jax. Baka nakakalimutan mo. You were the one who fooled me. Who lied to me! And even if you don't want us to separate, I don't care. I broke up with you last night so respect my decision." Bumuhos na ang kanyang luha. Jax, tumigil ka na. Mas nasasaktan tayo sa ginagawa mo.

"No, Cali. I don't want to be far away from you. Okay, I'll leave but don't expect that I'm agreeing with you breaking up with me." He reached for my hand again, and I let him hold it.

He leaned to kiss me, but I moved my face away from him. He kissed my cheek instead. Then, he kissed my forehead.

"I love you, Cali. Always remember that." He whispered, and that's when my tears came rushing down, which I immediately wiped.

I glanced at him, following his every move until he exited my room. As he closed my door, doon na muling bumuhos ang luha ko. Dali dali akong pumunta sa kama ko para humiga dahil parang nanghihina pa ako sa lahat. I hugged my pillow tightly as hot tears fell from my eyes.

I remembered the time we were together. We were very happy and contented with each other. I don't know what happened, and here we are now, apart from each other.

Sa lahat ng emosyong pinakita ni Jax sa akin kanina, parang ako ang nasasaktan para sa kanya.

The pain, regret, and love that flashed from his eyes made me want to hug him and come back to him. I want it so bad, but I can't.

I am so angry and disappointed that maybe my love for him was not enough to forgive and forget what he did. It was not enough to let him come back to my life. I want to think and be alone.
