Apology 2

247 36 21

to the flowers

i apologize
for plucking you
from your habitat
before allowing you
to experience the
blossom in this world
and stuffing
your wilt in my
ribcage
in a vain hope
that one day
my heart would grow
into a garden
with zigzag patterns
of melting ice and crushed petals

and

thank you
for showing me
that beautiful things
can grow
in the darkest
and filthiest of places
