symbiosis
i learned
to provide warmth
to the wax roses
of dense white
and subtle strokes of pink and blue
growing slowly in my veinsand in return
their fiery thorns
ceased their dysfunction
of injecting my bones
and started burning holes
in the layers
of my morbidity
and grew out of them
as beautifully and peacefully
as they could
