Chapter Fourteen

I watch as Kylie drags some guy out of the palace doors. I see Maxon chase  after her and I follow. I run out the palace doors to find Kylie yelling at a guy. Maxon grabs Kylie by the waist and pulls her away. She starts kicking and screaming. Very princess like. Yeah right. Maxon comes back and starts talking to the guy. I see Alexis arrive. She steps out in her beautiful black ball gown. She catches sight of Maxon and the guy and screams, "Kurt!", and she sounded angry. "Uh hey Lexi" The guy named Kurt says. "Why are you here?!" Alexis yells. "I came for the masquerade." He says calmly. "Who did you bring?" Alexis asks. "Emma" Kurt says. "YOU BROUGHT HER!?" Alexis screams. Kurt simply nods. "Maxon, where's Kylie?" Lexi says trying not to scream. "Check over there in the bushes." Maxon says and he turns to me. "Mays, take him and go find this Emma girl. They are leaving now." Maxon tells me. I nod and go grab Kurt by the arm. He tries to pull away but I hold on tighter. I drag him around till we finally find Emma. I grab her by the hair and start dragging her. "Hey! Let go of me!" Emma says. "Nah" I say. "I will tell the Princess" She says. "Oh really because I was given orders by her to kick you two out. You Emma were not invited." I tell her. She looks at me speechless. I tug on her hair harder and she screams.

"Thank you, Mayslee" Maxon said when we came out of the palace doors. Kylie and Alexis come out from around the corner. Kylie starts to run after Kurt but Maxon grabs her by the waist again. "You two! I don't want you ever back at my palace again! Not only did you ruin my birthday but you also hurt one of my best friends very badly!" Kylie shrieks. "You can't do that." Emma says. "Of yes she can." I hear the voice of King Charles. I quickly courtesy and so does the other girls. "Your Majesty, she can't kick me out! I should be the queen not her!" Emma screams. Guards come from around the corners and take Emma and drag her away with her screaming. Kylie and Alexis start laughing and soon I join in. "May we go back?" I ask Kylie. "Of course" Kylie says.

After that mishap I was still upset. We walk back in the palace for what it seems like the fiftieth time. "Would you care for a dance?" Maxon asks me. I smile and nod. We start dancing and I rest my head in his shoulder. Lift my head up and look into his chocolate brown eyes. He smiles at me and I blush. He spins me around and I fall back onto him. I notice that everyone was starting to leave. It must be nine o'clock. Mayslee comes up and hugs me. "Happy Birthday Kylie!" She exclaims. "Thank you!" I say. She leaves and Alexis walks up. "Hey Kylie, I'm sorry for ruining your birthday." Alexis says. "No, you didn't. You would have done the same thing." I tell her. She smiles and nods. We hug and she quickly leaves. Soon the whole ball room is empty and everyone starts cleaning. I slowly walk up the stairs to my bedroom. I slip out of my shoes and take off my mask. I shimmy out of my dress and take down my hair and jump in the shower.

I get out and put on my Sleeping with Sirens t-shirt, sweat pants, black hoodie, and fuzzy socks. You are probably wondering why does a princess have all the clothes of a normal person. Well, my mom and Maxon bought them for me because I feel uncomfortable wearing all those dresses. I run downstairs to the dining hall and run to the kitchen. I quietly open the refrigerator and grab an apple. As I turn to run I bump into someone. It was my father. I shy away and dart for the door. "Stop!" He bellows. I flinch at the loudness of his voice. "Why are you down here?" He asks. "I uhh needed a snack." I say stuttering. "Come here now!" He yells. I can smell the alcohol in his breath. He's drunk. I slowly walk over to him. "Faster!" He shouts. I rush over to him. He smacks me hard on the face. I scream in pain. He laughs. He shoves me on the ground kicks me on my ribs. I scream an ear piercing scream. I hear footsteps outside the door. My father runs out the other door. Maxon comes through the door and gasps. "Kylie! Some one! Come here now!" Maxon screams. I see maids rushing in and possibly more but I was already drifting away.
