Chapter 14

I knocked on his door. "Mike, may I come in?"

"No, you may not." He screamed rudely.

"I am coming in." I said and opened the door.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" He asked and continued focusing on his video game. "I need some privacy."

"Hey, I am your sister." I snapped at him.

"What do you want?" He asked not taking his eyes off the game.

I looked around his room before I said anything. His room was such a mess. His dirty socks and underwear was literally on his bed. And all his clothes were on the floor. And his school bag was just thrown across the room. After I examined his room I asked him.

"How do you sleep in such a messy room?"

"If it is such a messy room, get out."

"When I leave, you can take my room."

"You are leaving? Whoo-hoo." He said excitedly and pressed a button on the controller and he won the game.

"Why were you excited, is it because I am leaving or because you won the game."

"Partially, both." He said and got up from the couch where he was sitting.

"I guarantee you are going to miss me so much."

"You are wrong." He said. "Anyway, it is not like you are leaving forever."

I laughed. "You will understand soon enough." I said in a really low voice.

"What? I didn't hear you."

"I said 'You're right.'"

"I am always right." He said and walked to the door.

"If I leave forever, you should know that I love you, I have always loved you. Even though we fight a lot, you have always been the best brother I could get. I was really jealous when you were born, mom loved you more than me. I hated it. They used to sleep with you and not with me. You ruined my life. But, now I realise that life is not at all fun without siblings. All the fun we had. You remember when we drew moustache with black pen for mom?" I said and laughed remembering those days.

"Yeah, she was so pissed at us." He said laughing.

"Yeah, she was. Anyway, I have to go. Remember I am gonna miss you." I said and walked out of the door.

He gave me a why-will-you-miss-me kind of reaction.

I was done talking to everyone in my family. I was so prepared to die. I just had to go into the woods and die. Sometimes we play with our life but when the time gets for us to be serious, life plays with us...

Chloe was sitting on the bed in my room. "Are you really ready to die?"

"Yeah, I said goodbye to everyone in my family."

"Seriously? You are not even sure that you are going to die."

"Things that are said in that book has come true. So this can also come true."

"Whatever, Let's go. It's getting dark." Chloe said ignoring what I just said.

"Ok." I said and zipped my bag. I had everything packed. I didn't know if I will end up like Linda, So, I was so prepared for what was ahead of me. I took the bag and walked till my door. I just looked around my room and said "I am going to miss you." The door closed behind me.

"Mom, I am leaving." I said and hugged her one last time.

And dad was sitting on the couch and watching television. "Dad, bye." I said and hugged him.

Mike just stared at me. "What is wrong with you?" I hugged him and said, "Nothing."

All the three just stared at me in shock. "Bye, everyone." I said and took a step out of the house. A step closer to my death...
