Martin took me to a clearing in the woods around the town, and there we lay gazing up at the stars. It was a beautiful sight, stars before dawn are the clearest and I felt myself wondering how big and beautiful our universe is as I kept gazing at them, how there is so much we don't know and if we will ever be able uncover everything before human's extinction, we were only able to discover just a fraction of our universe, it's crazy to think about it.
The chilly night air made everything more beautiful. I thanked god I brought my comfortable hoodie with me. I wanted to lie here forever, just silence, calm and a beautiful night sky. I felt at peace.
But I wasn't here for silence, I was here for answers and I needed to have them, especially since it is four at the morning now.
"So do you like it?" Martin said softly, he seemed at peace too.
"I love it." I whispered. "But this is not the reason we are here."
I sat up and crossed my legs, Martin chuckled and propped himself up on one elbow to look at me.
Martin was actually really gorgeous. With his long brown hair swaying slightly, and how he lay lazily with a lazy smile on his face. To be honest any girl would kill to be in this situation with a guy as handsome as him. Heck, even I would have killed for that. But it wasn't all about looks. As handsome as he is, for me, he is nothing more than a friend.
Which was really crazy because just a week ago, I saw him as nothing but the man who threatened to kill me if I spoke.
"Alright, what do you want to know?" He asked.
I grinned excitedly and sat straighter "What is your world exactly?"
"Can't tell you that. But I am not from around here."
"Yes, I figured." I stated sarcastically.
He lay back again, this time crossing his arms beneath his head and closing his eyes. Which brought up another question.
"What about your eyes changing colors?"
"Green is not my real eye colour, blue is. I just change it to green here because as you may have noticed, they are kind of mesmerizing." He said, eyes still closed and I rolled mine at his arrogance.
"So you change your eyes from mesmerizing blue to mesmerizing green? Couldn't you change it to a normal green? I am so sick of girls gushing about how dreamy your eyes are in the school's bathroom." He smirked then sat up crossing his legs, facing me.
"But if I go around with this colour," he blinked and his eyes changed to its natural color, "they will gush more."
His eyes reminded me of Ryan's, and at the thought of him I unconsciously looked at the ground and smiled.
"Why are you smiling?" He asked.
"I just remembered someone," I said shyly, fiddling with some grass.
Martin grinned and wiggled his eyebrows. "Pinky likes someone, huh?"
"N-no. I don't like anyone."
"You should see the blush on your face."
I don't usually behave this way so I got concerned for a second. Did I really like Ryan? I mean, I just met the dude yesterday, what's wrong with me?
"Um... what about your age?" I asked attempting to change the subject, which thankfully worked.
Martin looked really conflicted for a second before answering. "If I tell you, will you freak out?"
"I have seen enough freaky stuff already, an age won't freak me out."
