Each of us has their own way of escaping the real world. Maybe it's a movie, a book, a hobby, a video game or even by sleeping. We just all need to relax for a little while. But when your life is so dull, you do nothing but escape it. And you come across as obsessed because you talk about those things so much, when in reality, you just have nothing better to do.
And as people are telling stories about the fun things they did, you are just sitting there, talking about the movie you watched the other day. And it just stings because you wish you had fun stories to tell as well.
It's like I am always stuck in my place, I watch other people go on with their lives and I just do the same things over and over again, the routine never changes. Sometimes I fear the future, I think about all of the big dreams I have and if they will ever come true. In twenty years, will I have achieved all the things I yearn for, or will I be talking about another movie?
Well, I am probably going to die before twenty one anyway.
I sighed as I looked at Chloe who is sitting on my bed, searching on my laptop. Not for an assignment or an essay, she is searching for something important to her.
"Chloe, just stop it and let's do something fun." I whined for the hundredth time.
"Shut up, Hope." She said, eyes fixed on the laptop. "If you are going to have a crush on that guy we need to know everything about him."
"Don't worry it's not like he is a secret magician from a different world." Chloe blinked at me.
"I don't get the reference."
"Oh, it's not a reference." I smirked.
"Anyway, Ryan isn't very active on social media."
"Ugh, no one is perfect."
''But he shares some memes every once in a while." She continued.
"Alright, he's good." I shrugged
"I knew you were going to base your relationship on memes someday." She muttered.
"You know my number one rule: date someone you can quote vines with."
Chloe looked at me and shook her head, "sometimes I just don't get you."
"Believe me, me too." I said and stood up "just forget about it Chloe, I don't want to come off as a creepy stalker who knows everything about him."
Chloe scoffed. "Stalker? Nonsense. I am only on his cousin's boyfriend's friend's aunt's profil- okay, I get your point now."
"See! Now, stop and let us do anything."
"Well, my job here is done. I have to go because I promised Tiffany I'd see her. I just wanted to see you so we can investigate together." She said as she picked up her bag.
"Alright... so, do you have anything to do in two days? There is that movie I want to see and... I need someone to come see it with me." I said fidgeting with the hem of my shirt, expecting her to refuse.
Chloe hissed. "I promised Tiffany I will hang out with her, I am so sorry. Maybe I can make it up to you?"
"No, i-it's okay. Never mind." I waved her off, she gave me a quick hug and got out.
The thing is, Chloe has a friend obsession with Tiffany. What is a friend obsession? It is when you want to be friends with someone so bad that you become obsessed with them.
I have endured it for the past year and half, thinking it will go away once they become friends, but actually, it got worse. Tiffany is a nice person but it really gets annoying when Chloe keeps talking about her all the time like she is some sort of a goddess when she is like any normal person. It's just so unhealthy.
