"No, I am not getting into another scavenger hunt with you." I protested and got up.

"It is not a scavenger hunt, I am sure it is there." He got up too.

"Just like you were sure about it being in my backyard?" I questioned, raising my eyebrow.

Martin thought of something to say as he was taken aback. "Alright it was a miscalculation, but this time I am really certain it is there!"

"Why would you need my help anyway? You're a skilled magician you can do it by yourself."

"As you know, my skills are not that good, besides you are my friend, friends help each other." He gave me sad puppy eyes.

Damn it, did he have to pull out the friends card?

"Nope, not falling for that." I said turning away.

"Falling for what?" He feigned innocence, an amused smile tugging at his lips.

"Martin, stop." I giggled and he laughed. "But seriously, I am not going to help you steal. It's a museum."

"It is not stealing if it is yours in the first place, and I am going to replace it." He whined.

"Replacing it doesn't make it okay." He gave me irresistible sad puppy eyes and this time I couldn't resist. "Okay, what about we talk with the principal and convince her to take us on a trip there?"

"I do not see how this is going to help me."

"There will be a lot of students which will cause a distraction. Then you can sneak out to your little necklace, take it and drive away into the sunshine."

Martin considered it for a moment before he agreed, "alright, I am going to do that. But I will leave n-"

Before he could reply, the door opened and my mom entered, but she tensed up once she saw I wasn't alone.

"Didn't know you were having guests today." She said, her eyes not leaving Martin.

"Mom, this is Martin, my new friend." I introduced her to Martin and she offered her hand to shake his.

"Hello Martin."

"You are her mum? I thought you were her sister." Martin said with a goofy grin and I rolled my eyes. "A younger sister too."

"Knock it off," I chuckled, punching his upper arm playfully.

"Hey, easy there, these take hard work." He joked, rubbing his arm.

Mom gave us a tight smile, must have been a hard day at work, it always have that effect on her.

"Mrs. Adams, it was a great opportunity to meet you. But I will get going now." Martin said and mom just gave him a nod.

"Hey buddy." Martin chuckled as he caught the ball Jake threw at him and they went down the stairs together.

....

Monday came and I wanted to see one person, Chloe. She hasn't been replying to any of my messages which was odd, she even saw some of them. Ryan and I have been texting more frequently, though. Which made me feel like I am on cloud nine. I think I am really falling for this guy.

Troye glared at me as I passed, but I ignored him. I spotted Chloe but as I was approaching her, she pretended that she didn't see me and turned to walk the other way.

I frowned, "that's weird.''

A shrilling scream made me turn around quickly, and I saw Troye screaming and running as a bunch of flying cockroaches flew out of his locker and chased him.
