"Jump higher next time! Victoria, you have the same amount of flexibility as a big fat elephant lying on it's butt all day long." Coach Spencer shouted and Victoria ran out crying, one of her friends followed her.

"Yeah, yeah. Crybaby. Keep behaving like that and you are off the competition! Start again on the count of three." She blew her whistle and all the cheerleaders practiced their dance once more.

I was sitting on the bleachers waiting for Chloe to finish off her cheerleading practice. She is on her way to become a head cheerleader and she is trying her best to stay on coach Spencer's good side. It is hard though, since she is a tough person.

"Okay, you can all take a one minute break." I heard coach Spencer blow her whistle again after they finished their second practice.

Chloe gave me a tired expression while wiping off her forehead and I laughed giving her two thumbs-ups. She smiled and walked up to the coach.

I noticed Cassandra approaching me. Her long raven black hair was pulled back in a perfect bonytail and her lip gloss was applied perfectly. Wish I was that pretty.

"Hope, right?"

"Uh, yeah." I was surprised because she knew my name.

"You must be wondering why I am talking to you," she began, taking a seat next to me. "So, I have noticed that you spend a lot of time with Martin."

Uh-oh. Is this one of those movie situations where the pretty cheerleader is mean to the girl on the bleachers because of the hot guy?

"Yes, but don't worry our friendship is entirely platonic so there is no need for some ex girlfriend revenge." I said quickly and Cassandra blinked.

"This is not why I am here, I just wanted to warn you. He played me, convinced me that he likes me, with his beautiful green eyes and luscious locks." She sighed dreamly before her expression turned back to anger. "Just to dump me suddenly and without any explanation."

"I am so sorry for what he did to you-"

"No, it's alright. Thing is, Martin is a player, and some people are stating rumors that you are his next target. You seem like a nice person, I don't want you to go through what I did, he may start using you anytime. We girls should be there for each other!"

She gave me a small smile and I realized how much of an asshole Martin is. I felt kind of guilty because I know the reason behind all of it, Martin pretended to like her for that stupid crystal, and had it been the right one, he would've took it, leaving her even more heart broken.

"Martin isn't interested in me in that way, we are just friends, and believe me when I tell you I don't even know why I am friends with such an idiot." I said and she laughed, making me chuckle.

"Good to know. Be careful around him though."

"I will, also, you deserve a lot better than a stupid babbling lizard wizard like him."

"Stupid babbling lizard wizard?" She grinned, "this is my new favorite insult.''

I shrugged, I was about to make another joke but the ear piercing whistle sounded again.

"Enough slacking, you sloths. You took more than one minute. Trisha, get your ass here faster."

"Well, guess I got to go before she slits my throat." Cassandra said and got up.

I sat there watching them, waiting for it to end so I could go home and see what the heck Martin wants from me. And that's when I saw Ryan at the door. He waved at me and gestured for me to come over. I walked nervously to him, what happened the previous night running through my mind.
