flashback

She watched as the 7 boys fell to the floor in exhaustion after repeatedly practicing their choreography for this month's examination. Every month the company would conduct an evaluation to analyse the group's progess in their abilities.

The boys had been training so hard for this and she couldn't be more proud of them.

hopefully, they would debut soon.

She grabbed the 7 mineral bottles and walled over to the center of the practice room. She handed each limp figure on the floor a bottle, the figures responding with a small but sincere thanks as they chugged down the liquids.

"Noona! Come dance with us!" the loud whines of Chenle and Jisung echoed the once silent practice room. The two figures were slowly crawling towards her, leaving a disgusting trail of sweat marks k the floor, causing Jeno to scrunch his nose up in revulsion

She cheekily poked out her tongue and wriggled her eyebrows.

"Yah! You're all so sweaty! Get away from me-"

A pair of arms snaked around her waist as she was pulled into a warm, but clammy embrace. Mark's neck was gently snuggling into the crook of her neck while protectively glaring at the two innocent maknaes.

"Yah! lEe mInHyunG! Get you're sweaty ass away from me!" She teased as she wriggled out from his embrace and threw at towel at his face, causing his dongsaengs to fall into a pit of laughter.

The sounds of laughter faded as the boys' mentor reentered he practice room, not-so-subtlely judging the 6 boys rolling on the floor while clutching their stomachs and the 1 lone boy pouting in the corner of the room.

The music turned back on, and the boys began to practice their choreography again.

Areum sighed. She really wanted the best for these boys and she didn't want for there to be any distractions that may hinder their futures.

Yet, deep down, she knew that she was a problem.

A problem that the boys insisted was to be easily negotiated with.

However, she still wondered whether it was time for her to let go, even if it may result in breaking their relationship.

was it time to be selfless?

or should she stay selfish?

was it wrong to be selfless for the sake of others?
