flashback

Her phone was grasped tightly in her hands, as she reread the displayed article over and over again.

"SM establishes new no dating policy."

She blinks a couple of times, her eyes wavering over the text before her. She scrolls through the article, her heart clenching as the news sank into her mind.

"Lee Soo Man establishes new amandments that restrict any SM Entertainment trainee from debuting if they are in a relationship, unless contracts are renegotiated."

She slowly placed her phone on her nightstand as her hands snuggled into the covers of her bed. She needed time. Time to consume reality.

what about their relationship?

what she holding him back from his dream?

Questions spiralled in her mind as she let the insecurities consume her. She was unconciously perspiring as her fingers fidgeted with the comforter that covered her body.

After a while, she propped herself back up onto her forearms to reach for her phone on the nightstand. She slowly scrolled through her contact lists as she clicked on his contact.

dialling...

"Hello?"

He picked up.

"Mark."

"Jagi? Is something wrong?"

Silence. Her lips parted but no sojnd emitted from her mouth.

"You've heard the news haven't you?"

He knew.

She nodded in response, only to realise that they were on voice call and so he would not be able to sense her nod. Quivering, she hesitated but mumbled a "yes".

He sighed on the other end. "Areum-ah. Don't fret about it Jagi. I will talk to manager hyung about it alright?"

"Everything will be alright."

Her eyes faltered, she let out whimper too soft to be heard. She wanted to trust him. She wanted to believe it will be okay. She wanted to hold on longer,

but would everything really be alright?
