*knock knock*
She gently knocked on the wooden door twice, before slowly turning the handle and pushing open the door. Revealing the familiar minimalistic office room, polished and neat, with minimum furniture to open up broad space.
By the far end of the room, a young man, approximately in his early twenties, was lounging in his desk chair. His back towards the door as he gazed out the glass panes, seemingly admiring the jaw dropping views of Seoul city.
She coughed softly, causing his senses to awaken. He slowly turned his chair around to face her. His eyes lit up in surprise when he saw her as he got up from his chair to walk over to her.
"Areum-ssi, you're early!" He spread his arms wide as she ran over to him and fell into his embrace. He chuckled at her reaction as his hands ruffled her hair around, resulting in her pouting as she spent quite some time before her bedroom mirror fixing her hair.
"Yah!" She whined. "I haven't seen oppa in so long!!! And I had absolutely nothing else to do other than staying at home and being the usual couch potato queen and so I figured I might as well come and visit you."
"But we has lunch together the other day!"
"And sOOOooo¿ It's been like three days! THREE. WHOLE. DAYS."
They laughed after her windling speech. The two were always very close and so sharing these affectionate and close moments were the norm. The duo met many years ago, they were actually adjoining neighbours. The age gap between them was not vast, as he was only a few years older than her and so they clicked almost instantaneously.
Being the older one, everyone would expect him to be more mature but all his close relations would know that deep down he was such a child at heart. He was such a fan boy of many kpop artists in the industry and so when he was accepted for a manatorial job in THE SM entertainment, few knew that beneath his calm exterior physique he was actually screaming and jumping for joy. He would always secretly fangirl whenever he passed any artist in the building.
After being accepted into SM, he had to move into a new apartment to stay with the group that he would be managing. They were upset at first as the distance from his new apartment to their old homes was not the nearest, but they brightened up after finding out that he would be the new manager for SM'S new project group. This new project group also happened to be the group consisting of her boyfriend and her group of best friends. And so, through his work and her friendships, they actually were able to spend more time together than they anticipated.
"Anyway, Jinho oppa. What did you call me for?"
An unreadable expression emerged on his face, only to be replaced with a wary smile. He chuckled and looked down at her, but the light in his eyes seemed to have flickered. The smile on his face seemed more artificial.
"W-well, since y-you arrived early today, why don't we talk about it over some brunch? It's my turn to treat again and this really taint coffee shop opened down the road." He mumbled, slightly stuttering only to regain his composure after that. His hands scratched his nape as he seemed more nervous and vague.
She looked at him again, but brushed her doubt aside. She could never turn down food anyway.
"Sure. Let's go!"
He grabbed his coat and slowly opened the door for her, he gently hustled her out of the office. As she wasn't looking, he glanced anxiously at her, but he pushed that aside as he brought back his wide smile and led her towards the elevator.
does pushing doubt aside obstruct one from seeing the warnings they are being given?
